On Eagle's Wings

A mature Bald Eagle fly's off it's nest.  On Eagle's Wings

Notice the leg bands on the Eagle, the silver ban on the left is the Federal Ban and the blue ban on the right is the state ban. The color Blue indicates that this Eagle was hatched in New York State.  This Eagle is about 10 years old.

Still have a lot of photos to share from this trip to India. Actually heading home on Saturday morning at 2:00 AM (Friday 2:30 CST). Not looking forward to the 24 hour journey with layovers. I will have time to post more images once I am home for a 3 week rest before heading back.

I know there a lot of photos here but it is a nice collection of various street scenes taken over the past 2.5 months. Not necessary to critique but only to view and share my experience.

The last is my personal favorite.

Most photos were taken on the fly walking around or in a taxi.

How get the 'sense' of distance?

So there's this great view in a nearby woods but I just can't seem to capture the 'distance'.  The image seems flat.  Any suggestions?

 Trail Perspective

This was taken recently on the first warm day (50's) in weeks.  That warm-up caused the algae bloom in the puddle and the moss to green up along the trail.  I'm trying to capture a feeling of entering a somewhat intimidating tunnel.

Okay, I need your honest opinions...is the following photograph of my friend's baby in focus or blurry?? I need harsh, honest answers here...I'm trying to figure out if it's just my perception that's off, or really my vision. C&c, and thank you's all around for looking & commenting, in advance...

This was the first place we went on our way back from Phoenix, that was a long trip apparently at 5am a tour bus had gotten in an accident and closed I-10, the round trip took us 7 hours, normally a 4 hour round trip. The ostrich was a scary picture their beaks are HUGE and they arent gentle at all. There is an aviary there where they have about 20 Lorkeets that you feed with some nectar, that was hilarious they would land all over you, head, shoulders and hands. The one was having the worst time keeping his friends off "his" nectar, he only has two feet so he could only hold off one at a time. My son and daughter and I had a wonderful time there.

The sea has been a part of me for as long as I can remember...  my father built my first surfboard when I was about 8 years old ...  and I still have it...  yep... I broke his heart when I bought my first mass produced board in 1959..  god knows how many I have owned, built and or traded in the past 50 years... but as they say... you can take the boy from the beach but...  you can't take the beach from the boy....My passion, love, joy....

 This blue is for you....

Sure hope you can imagine how good this   Tasted    to me the other day at lunch.
After uploading it seems as though my 'thumb pic' is too blurry--am hoping it is just my very tired eyes.  came back to put in another pic of the  crocus --this one does not look as blurry.

                             Have a great evening!

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

 Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

The Cape Hatteras lighthouse is probably the most recognized lighthouse in the United States - with the distinctive red brick and granite base and the white and black spiraling paint. And, at 198 feet high, it is the tallest brick lighthouse in the United States.

My son came down for a quick weekend, we didnt sit still for long, stopped off at the Ostrich Farm, then to the Zoo and then to the Botanical Gardens. Sunday was raining here so the Gardens were nice in the greenhouse with all the butterflys, here are a few of them. I managed to get a few of them flying but that is very very hard to do as they dont fly a straight line like a bird usually does. I will post some of the Ostrich Farm later they turned out great.

Went to the zoo this past weekend with the kids.  The weather was beautiful and the animals were out.  We saw a waving Monkey    Giraffe eating Grass.  Even though the Aligater   appeared to be sleeping he was using the sense of sight.  The Snake  was ready to eat me if he could get through the glass.  This last photo I dont know what Sense  it would be.  It has been a while since I put any stories in just been busy.  Glad to be back.
