Challenge: Eyes

soft light and  soft yellow and soft focus.... is it friendship or romance? I have received flowers for both reasons......... I took several of these but this was my favorite. I know its a bit dark and moody, but  I like the effect. Somehow it comforts me, like an honest hug from behind. flowers_and_me_062

    Kids will do that sometimes. I like the color of the flower. You have focus on the distant edge of the flower. IMHO I would have focused on the center or the close edge.

    The idea to me of a soft focus is to have the area the photographer wants to bring out and leave the other areas soft....so the eye gently is drawn to that point. So do you feel you have done that? It looks to me like a photo that was cropped and blown up to use the area that you liked.....but the focus is absent.......keep posting. I've been wrong before.

    Now that is constructive input, chef. Understand as well, the photographer may have been trying to communicate something different. Hmmm, a hug from behind. I like that and I think I can see it in the photo as well. maybe I am dark a moody as well. I think we have all seen photos or art that we could not see the point of until we read the theme of the shot, then it all comes together. a_grah, I like what you are trying to do.

    I would prefer the focus to near the foreground, just call me a traditionalist.
