...and the flames went higher... that ring_of_fire_1 ring_of_fire_2.OK...so to explain what this monstrosity is...last weekend, we had a friends wedding. I am hoping to get clearance from my wife to post some of her pics of the bride. In any case, during the reception, the couple danced withing a ring of onlookers to "ring of fire." I was playing with the exposure trying to achieve what i imagine a ring of fire would be. Let me know what you think.
I shot these first two last summer on the mesa trying somthing new,(shot 1/10 sec,ISO 400, f22) slow_stream,( shot at 1/20 sec, ISO 400, f27) stream_slow These last pictures I got last weekend on our way to Teluride. Draft_horses Cat_tails_winter Dallas_divide
Here's one for the go long challenge. This is a portion of Hooker Falls in DuPont State Forest in North Carolina. DuPoint State Forest is a beautiful place in the mountains near Asheville. The land was donated to the state by DuPont Chemical Co after they quit making x-ray film there. I'm told they picked the site for the clean air and water.
I used two ND filters and f/32 to get this four second exposure on a sunny day in February.

What do you think? I'm not sure I like the composition. Cropped and converted to B&W - there was very little color to start with.

I have decided to dig out the old Nikon F2 and shoot some pictures again. A couple years ago I broke down and bought a small dog. That furball has changed my thoughts of how a guy should not have a small dog. I have taken hundreds of pictures but still like this one best.
How about 50 years is that long? I could have done without the AARP mail, but hey, I'm happy to be alive and well and hope to live another 50 years!! (Maybe I better save the Halloween costume!)

Burning up a Valentine Day candle, shot taken at 1/3 second
Oh, this is harder than it looks. How about a picture while I work on this. Some of the subject matter that comes to mind is still life. 1. 6 seconds Or maybe plant life is something more for you. 1/2 seconds
If that is not your style, you can always go outdoors, for either a night shot 10 seconds or something during the day 1/5 seconds
My personal preference is indoors, 1.6 seconds
Whatever your style is, go long.
I would like to thank kalole0 for giving me this chance. For the next challenge, I nominate Ashton.
