Have been trying to find some sun shots that would work, but no success. It has been storming at sundown the past week. (Not a complaint, we need the rain,) but no good sun pix.
Searching the archives, I found some that may work.

Will try to get more creative before the challenge is over.

It is a quiet Sunday afternoon here and I stepped out into the garden to view a few of my flowers. Just a couple of them here:

I hadn't made an official entry yet for the Catch the Sun theme...
Just a few of the many, many sunset shots from Aruba. I used a ND Grad for almost all of the sunset shots when there. No doubt the conversion & compression will lessen the color of the clouds as it was the color of a perfectly soft-boiled egg! No better way to describe it!
A cloud shot like we were just talking about:
Not the sun, per se, but how it affects the pastels on a beach in Grenada at noon:
And finally, a rainbow shot from Grenada:
The one striking thing about rainbows in the Caribbean to me was how much of the green and blue you could see. In the states you can only see some red, orange and yellow, but the rest are absorbed by pollution somehow. It seemed like someone had taken some highlighters and drawn across the sky, they were so bright and clear.
I've since ditched the lens that I took these with, but even with a mid quality lens I hope they convey what a calm and serene place the sun makes these islands of paradise.
The sun shining through a mysterious pine tree in St. Lucia?
A sample sunny smile from St. Lucia!
Taking a break during the hottest (sunniest) part of the day...

Some sort of watermelon sun god, perhaps?
You know what they say...
You can do anything with sardines!
The water was so clear, sunlight went all the way to the bottom and back over 20' deep!
Little fish catching the sun in Barbados
All these images are un-retouched, uncropped, and right off the sensor. Also, no need to comment on any/all of them... just meant to be the submission for the challenge! :)
I love the way that the trees seem to beFiltering the sun

If you missed this event last night... not to worry.....
Its been a long time since I have been here....popped in tonight, saw the weekly challenge...thought I would throw this one up. It was taken last Sunday in my backyard. Its called a solar halo or 22 deg halo...Sun
We have been having a lot of sun lately for these flowers to catch. Hope that you enjoy them. Jo
I agree with Penny, in Michigan, It's hard to catch the great shots when Mother Nature, will not cooperate. But here are what I think are some good shots. Michigan sun set Michigan sun rise & galls Michigan sun rise Galls in flight Michigan sun rise Michigan sun after ice storm Michigan real late sun set sun_ball_game I hope you like them

A recent RV trip to a beautiful lake on the Marine Base, Quantico, gave me a chance to capture these sunset photos.

From a recent walk around a lake. The morning sun was coming up and the dew was aglistening. I was able to capture the sun in these two.
Little sun in grass Dew on grass
Here is a different type of grass and a whole allota sun.
