Last minute signs entry

By cmcnaught written 4/8/06 10:45 PM, published 4/8/06 10:45 PM
I have thoroughly enjoyed the many signs posted during this challenge. As I went back through some of my photos I realized how many sign photos I already had. In keeping with the rules though, I went out and took new sign photos. Here's a "story."

Sometimes I walk around taking photos just because. I see a simple Popup Linkscene, or what I think is simple. It turns out there is hidden garbage in that dumpster labeled "General Forum." I've walked by a hundred times, never bothering to look in the dumpster. Imagine my surprise.

Inside the "Forum" lurks Popup Linkhidden dangers.

The calm facade, is merely that: Popup Linka false image, a mask if you will, for deep undercurrents.

Sometimes, things are put together that Popup Linkdon't really belong together, things I had no idea existed.

So here is my sign entry; you can ignore everything previous.

The  Popup LinkPerrine Bridge, which passes over the Snake River in Twin Falls, is dedicated to, and guarded by, Popup LinkIB Perrine.

Even this plaque has Popup Linkhidden colors brought out through some Popup Linksaturation adjustment.

Signs, ehh?

By Braettie written 4/8/06 12:25 AM, published 4/8/06 12:25 AM

Here's the sign for the Popup Linkbar downstairs from our apartment. I'm not a big drinker and I've only been there a few times, but it is definitely a dive. There are some eerie and sad stories connected with a couple of people who frequent this place. They have karaoke nights every Saturday, which we hear pretty clearly, especially during the summer.

Signs-Whos Chicken

By jcboiler written 4/7/06 11:15 PM, published 4/7/06 11:15 PM
You would think a very Famous Chicken establishment would be able to spell their product correctly on its sign...oh no...this "Chiken" stayed on the sign for more than a month!!  Funny thing is a well known roast beef Restaurant across the street advertised a "Chicken" sandwich, spelled correctly, for about the same time!?!?Popup LinkDESCRIPTION_HERE Popup LinkDESCRIPTION_HERE

JESUS RIDING IN THE CLOUDS

By GODSGIRL written 4/7/06 10:37 AM, published 4/7/06 10:37 AM
Two summers ago a few friends and I were moved to hand out gatorade and snacks along with the scripture translated in espanol to the hispanics building houses in our community. These men would work from sun up to sun down. While walking down the street, I looked up to get a view of the houses as they were coming up the hill. The next day we discovered the cloud formation over the houses. Look closely. This was taken with a palm pilot. Popup LinkDESCRIPTION_HERE

Smokey the Bear

By bjtindle written 4/7/06 3:42 AM, published 4/7/06 3:42 AM
I moved to Deaver, Wyoming in 2001. Deaver is about 70 miles northeast of Yellowstone National Park and this sign is/was (road work since, it is now gone to my disappointment) outside of Powell, WY.  I hope you can read it.  Seeing this sign reminded me of all the "Smokey the Bear" commercials which were on television when I was growing up.  Preventing forest fires was the goal.  When I saw this sign I felt both sad and happy, nostalgic. :) I am glad I took a picture before it was taken down. Hope you all like it.

Betty
