to do the things you want to do,  once you find them . . . ."

This is my grandmother who passed away when I was eight . . . I played around with a couple things to "age" the photo.  Feedback (almost) always graciously accepted.

~ Sharon's Rose ~

By TURBO

I must make up my mind today;
What to have, what to hold:
A poor man's roses,
Or a rich man's gold

One's as wealthy as a king in a palace,
Though he's callous and cold.
He may learn to give his heart for love,
Instead of buying it with gold.

Then the poor man's roses,
And the thrill when we kiss
Will be memories of paradise
That I'll never miss.

And yet the hand that brings a rose tonight
Is the hand I will hold.
For the rose of love means more to me
Than any rich man's gold.

A actual rose flash-frozen and Gold plated then painted. It is in tribute to my Sister-in-law Sharon that died some time ago.

And the poet said, Speak to us of Beauty.

And he answered:  IMG_0474

Where shall you see beauty, and how shall you find her

unless she herself be your way and guide?  IMG_0477

And how shall you speak of her except

she be the weaver of your speech?  IMG_0478

Be not afraid for Beauty is of the Tree of Life.

Who grows and changes before us, is born and thus dies.

I am newly born as a ***  IMG_0769 copy.jpg ***
In the arms of the darkest plant
between the piercing thorns
Now..sleeping so silently…

.

Dreaming for a warm embrace.
With the desire for a softest touch..
And dew drops on pale eye brows
guarded by knife like thorns!!”

Theme Challenge....The Eagle And The Hawk

I am the eagle, I live in high country
In rocky cathedrals that reach to the sky.

I am the hawk and there's blood on my feathers.
But time is still turning, they soon will be dry.

And all those who see me, and all who believe in me
Share in the freedom I feel when I fly.

Come, dance with the west wind and touch the mountain tops, Sail o'er the canyons and up to the stars.
And reach for the heavens and hope for the future
All that we can be, and not what we are.

John Denver -  The Eagle  And  The Hawk
