My favorite type of natural light is window lighting. I use it often, especially for portraiture, and it works well for still life photography as well. Window light has a unique quality, one that is soft, diffuse, directional, and creates local contrast. Since I had no human subjects, I used some of my favorite things to shoot. I love food and cooking and I play guitar (my other passion). Anyway here are a few of the images I took.

After The Rain Stoped The Color And Light Came Out. Captured Today From My Front Yard    After The Rain

I went to the park after work with my camera bag in tow.  It was about 6:00 in the evening, and I was welcomed, by A beautiful sunny grass field.  At this point I new already I was going to come away with some great shots.

I walked over to the pond where I normally see:

Canadian Geese
Malard Ducks
and finally Woodducks

I was really on a mission to see if I could find some baby ducks and geese.  It seems it's still a bit early for baby ducks, but the baby geese are out and about.  I went a little picture crazy:

I was getting a little too close to the babies, and making the parents nervous.  Wasn't sure if I was gonna come home bruised or not, because sometimes Ma Goose will take a run at you.  But it was fun none the less.

I came away with two shots that were my favorite of the day.  Both were just one of those shots where everything seemed to go right:

I have loved photography as long as I can remember. When I was a kid I would go through old photo books and wonder who took that picture and when and why and where and so on...
In 2002 I got my first digital camera...a Fugifilm Finepix 2.1 megapixel.... That moment was so exciting...from those very first photos I was hooked to finding different things to take pictures of sunsets, trees,  flowers,  clouds and on and on. I found that I liked to take weird and unusual closeup shots too. Forever addicted to photography and limited by such a small megapixel I will soon be moving up to a much more advanced camera and getting to have some more firsts but also letting go of a camera that captured some great shots of my daughter my son and of  natures simple beauty!!!

Today we had a strong but short thunderstorm at my house.  I love how light reflects in the water so I ran out to see what I could catch with my camera.  

Here I found some raindrops on my hosta.  Here is another  one with raindrops in a row.

The sun started to come out.  Here the clouds are breaking up.  That let some sun beams fall and I managed to catch one on this little flower.

Flowers in the Sun

Well I was outside the other evening, around 7 or so, so the sun was just beginning to set.  I found some cool angles through lamppost to get shots of the sun.  The maple leaves had great color because the sunlight was right on them too.  And then I got some shots of the sun through the leaves.  On my way back inside, I passed a bush, where a little guy was buzzing around collecting pollen.

Hi, this is my first time uploading A picture and also my first time even using this site.I just bought a Nikon D50 SLR Camera and Quantaray 28-90mm Lens. All of these Pictures I have taken are my first trys at taking pictures on such a WONDERFUL Camera. Except the first picture here of my husband that was taken with a normal little digital camera one day while we were taking a long walk and just enjoying each others company and the day.
