Challenge: Our five senses

Sense Challange

Went to the zoo this past weekend with the kids. The weather was beautiful and the animals were out. We saw a waving Monkey Giraffe eating Grass. Even though the Aligater appeared to be sleeping he was using the sense of sight. The Snake was ready to eat me if he could get through the glass. This last photo I dont know what Sense it would be. It has been a while since I put any stories in just been busy. Glad to be back.

Challenge - Our 5 Senses

I worked all day Saturday planting a new flower bed and other yard work. While working I sensed all 5 senses :).
Planted tomato plants, which we'll be able to taste when ready.
Planted flowers for a pretty sight .
While working in the garden there was a Mockingbird in our tree for me to hear natures music.
I don't know what this guy could smell but it must not have been very pretty....and it was NOT me LOL
EDIT-Dub-this post was written before you funny comment in your post yesterday.
Touching the dirt made for a fun play day.
Happy gardening! (well maybe later for you northerners) :o)
Living Without?

It's one thing (and very admirable) to look at and appreciate all of the things that are very much a part of our every day life. But, something that I think many of us take for granted, (especially since we're photography enthusiasts) is our ability to see.
For most of my 20's, my wife at the time, was totally blind. She had her sight until she was 29. Because of that, I watched her learn to develop other senses to enjoy life.
Some things can be explained through using our sense of feel. There are some things that we can all use as points of reference.
And then, of course, there is always the senses of smell and taste. Celebrate_Coffee
Challenge / good example of poor lighting
TASTE - How does your favorite drink taste?
SIGHT - You look this way, and I will look the other.
TOUCH - If you think this nudge feels bad, wait till I get my foot moving dear!!
If there is one thing I have learned here, it would be the importance of the proper lighting, or the importance of the proper settings for the existing light. I have a long way to go. I hope that you will continue to help me.
The Mighty Tasty Cane Juice

In the streets of Navi Mumbai (New Bombay) it is possible to find these Cane Juice carts . Newer motorized ones are found in downtown Bombay but I like the older style in which the cane sugar is pressed out of the stalk. The result for a couple Rupees is a sugary drink . I did try a little bit and will see how my stomach is tomorrow since the glasses are not washed in the cleanest of water. At least I can say that I did try it and it was tasty. Sugary with a taste of the stalk from a punk used to light fireworks as a kid.
Challenge - SSSTT

Okay, some of these are going to be a stretch, but, hey, as our good friend SG says - "bite me" ;-)
Taste - fresh baked bread - yes, I know it could be smell, but I'm going with taste, otherwise I have no taste - and that would be bad
Touch - daisy bee - yes, could be sight, could be smell--hell, it could even be taste - but it's not - see above
Sight - I made my annual photo pilgrimage to the local nursery and liked the repeating shapes here (this is also where I shot the flowers)
Sound - which could also be "hear," so here hare hear!
Smell - I didn't actually stick my nose in there and smell it, but I'm assuming that something that looks like this iceland poppy must be pretty smelly
Sight... /taste...... oh Hell .... Bite me....

Neighborhood Park - Sight?

I wandered down to the neighborhood park to see if anything was blooming yet - nope.
But I did come across this mutant barrel cactus that seems to think it wants to be something else. Little known trivia - all barrel cacti lean in the same direction, toward the southeast. I have no idea why.
I also liked this ocotillo cactus which has gotten its leaves, a sure sign of spring. And a relief after months of naked ocotillos running about everywhere.
I was looking for a shot in the playground when I noticed this jet streaking across the afternoon sky headed for Phoenix. I guess this could be a sight challenge entry. I definitely couldn't hear, taste, touch or smell it.
