Challenge: Shadows

I would first like to thank Sopris for another successful challenge. The members came through as usual with some very fine posts.

When my challenge hit the screen I could almost hear the groans of disappointment and the sighs of relief. It's probably not what most expected. I had a few topics I was tossing around when I was thrown into the hotseat. My original idea I scrapped as we rode up the chairlift in Vermont. While watching our shadows dance up the hill it was then I made my choice. This is yours truly on our last run of the trip. I love being outdoors in the wild. Wildman

Obscured light can add interest to an otherwise monochromatic scene. I sought out to find a variety of these images over the past couple weeks and this is what I came up with. cornstalks cemetery On this day after the storm, this meadow caught my eye. As I approached the fence this beautiful creature ran from his barn to greet me meadow

The next set is quite different from the rest. Without sun our planned day for landscape shooting was down the drain. We added a little twist with this collection I'll call Shadows of Art. Just boots Butts & boobs Sitting pretty You really didn't think I could stay out of trouble did you?

So look high and look lowe to seek out shadows. When the clouds roll in try getting out of your comfort zone with Shadows of Art! Have fun everyone.

It gives me extreme pleasure to introduce our next member to the hotseat. She was a little timid in accepting. From the city of San Francisco I give you Fuzzy. She's loaded with talent and lives in a great location for photography. I'm sure she won't disappoint.

P.S. Tomorrow marks one year on the site for me. Hope to have many more.

  • I would have been clutching my camera for dear life in the chairlift--and again for the last three. The horse is a fun shot, and the thumb is quite worthy.

Thank you Sopris for the main street challenge. Going to enjoy this one also, Wildman, In the first photo, if you look only at the snow and shadows it looks a twisting ski lift. I'll have to study the three last photos further before making a comment.
