Tension

By jam9663 written 4/6/07 12:57 PM, published 4/9/07 7:08 PM

It starts out as a distraction and becomes an annoyance.  It builds into a mounting pressure as it twists into your very being....it gets "knotted up" inside of you....it builds into a great seemingly, insurmountable, impassable problem.......and finally, it happens, you crack....you lose it and you're split apart on the inside.

Abstract with Vase

By Lidljo written 4/6/07 9:22 AM, published 4/9/07 5:27 PM

I have been thinking about how to do an abstract all week and yesterday I set aside some time to work on it.  I chose several subjects, but will only show one today.  I also planned to show you the steps to the abstract.
Top of the Vase 2 I chose this vase because of the twisted lines of color.

Let me know what you think.  Did I succeed with an abstract?

Abstract and details - I'm done!

I swear this is my last post on this challenge. (pause till cheering ends) (wait...wait) (jeez, are they ever gonna stop) Hey, I'm still gonna post, just not on this challenge! (pause till groaning ends) Sorry to dissapoint ya!  Here we go...

20 gauge.  Not a shotgun.
Put our heads together.  Could of been sharper but I flinched every time it lit.  But I got to play with matches.
Mag Lite.  Maglite flashlight shining right at ya!
Mistery.  Some curtain thingies Barb has on the bedroom windows. More abstract than detail.
Very orange.  Duh, an orange.
Lollipops.  A belt of 10k resistors.
Spungus.  My solder sponge.
Yellow "razzberry".  Another of the fake corsage.

Comments and criticisms welcomed.  I'll gladly bask in the warm glow of any kind comments and pass along any criticisms to Barb.

Details Around the Firehouse

By Pyro43 written 4/6/07 2:28 PM, published 4/7/07 5:24 AM

The fire department had rehearsal (practice) last night. It was a night of squad rotation, so Squad 1 practiced the Squad 2 procedures, Squad 2 practiced the Squad 3 procedures and Squad 3 practiced the Squad 1 procedures. I usually travel with the chiefs as they round-robin to each practice area so I can get shots of all. Well, this old boy decided it was just too cold and windy to venture out. You know you have to keep you camera warm. Right? And anyway, they were doing the same things they did last time with different squads. So, with that in mind I decided to stay in and wander around the firehouse and take some pictures.

Call anytime! We still make house calls.

There seems to be a self portrait (naked) sub-theme running. So, here goes mine. I’ll admit I didn’t used to be so heavy, but here goes. Are you ready?  YIKES!!!

Happy Easter!

What To Do...

By Lidljo written 4/2/07 2:44 PM, published 4/7/07 5:15 AM

What to do when you are waiting in the car...take pictures, of course.  Saturday Wim had to stop at the shop and help one of the workers, so I waited in the car.  So....I started to fool around with my camera.

More Rhodies

By ClassyShots written 4/4/07 9:33 PM, published 4/6/07 4:13 PM

I wandered over to the park today to see what rhodies were blooming. The lighter colors always start first and the darker ones a couple of weeks later. I'll get over this kick in 3 or 4 weeks when they are done blooming.

First one is a fancy ruffled edge pink two tone. I've never caught this one in bloom.

Fancy Pink
This one gets you in real close to a different light pink one.

We are in for a three night hard freeze..... this will be  spring's demise for our area, which has been in full bloom for over three weeks.

So take a last look with me at my

Beautiful Dogwoods

I am going to try to cover up what I can with sheets, but it may be futile...I can't believe our temperatures are dropping from the 80's to a forecasted low of 17 degrees!

Thanks for looking!

I had fun gathering together all of my funky abstract pics.  I hope that you all like at least one of these.  But don't get your hopes up that I strayed from my nature roots. That I haven't been able to make myself do yet.
