My computer and I have been at odds lately, and I originally didn’t plan on participating in this challenge because I had to update the drivers on my scanner. However, I was going through a box of junk yesterday, and found a disposable camera that had 6 shots left on it. I flipped it over, and the expiration date on the bottom was December, 2002. I couldn’t for the life of me remember what might have been on this camera, and what would they look like 5 years after the film expired? I shot off the last 6 shots in order to solve the mystery, and ran the camera down to Ritz last night.Well, the mystery was solved…sort of. There were shots of a Tiger’s baseball game from either 2001 or 2002. All I remember about the game is the Tigers lost…which wasn’t unusual back in 2001 or 2002. Of the 20 shots that were originally on the camera, only 8 came out, and most of them looked like this! Even more of them were a grainy pink with odd shapes and colors .
As for the ones I took yesterday, well they were pretty grainy too. Here are the 4 best.
Life is a Highway Had one shot left before I got to Ritz!
Pain at the Pump Okay, between this and the baseball game, it’s obvious that disposables aren’t good for telephoto shots!
Pyramid of Hats Hey, I was trying to use up the film…
And most importantly, the line-up of toys I appreciate more than ever!
Benjamin and Poppabear spend a great day adventuring. Canoeing and swimming.Paddle ready... Speedo Sez Safety First... Life is good poppabear Then on to Subway for lunch as a Benjamin choice. Subway mini ham and chocolate and M&M cookie...ummmm Then in convertable to the beach for an Atlantic dip. I_m_a_fish_poppabear Grownup Beachboy at four This turned out to be a fun but challenging challenge. Thank you Robin.
First, a shot I should have taken with the first roll of film, a focus test:
Focus test, raw from the camera
Focus test, enlarged for better viewing
The white duck is one foot away, the rest follow every six inches. Looks like this camera starts to focus at about 18 inches.
Next, a orange lily.
Orange lily, raw from the camera
Orange lily, tweeked
I never could get the orange back to where I wanted it. But, remove the clutter, and the picture is improved.
And a red rose.

Again, remove the clutter, and the picture is improved.
A ground squirrel.

Enlarging helps. (These camera need a zoom!)
Lastly, I was able to get a quick snap of Yang exercising in the pool.

Here's the rest of the shots, unaltered. It sure was a challenge, but fun in a defeated sort of way. The first ones are more from Tilden park, then some from home.
Now, back to my Canon with renewed appreciation.
Ok, here are two more taken with my fun little camera, this one was taken while i was driving and car was moving:disposable fourDo you remember using these??? : disposable five
Warning: more to come...... ; )
two disposable cameras, one color and one B&W, 27 exposures each and all I can find to post are 5 of the B&W ones...and they're green! (gotta love the kids working at Walgreen's...)I did absolutely no post processing, this is exactly the way they came off the CD. They sort of remind me of photos I used to take with my Dad's circa-1950's Kodak Brownie camera...when I was nine....
and these are the good ones...
I'm gonna go find my D200 now... and apologize... :-)
Found a black & white disposable camera, so I took it out and found some old things to take photos of. Here are the acceptable ones.BWCaboose in the local park for kids to play on.
BWDodge in my yard, my brother in law is restoring it.
BWGasStation
I found this in a town about 30 minutes from my house, I always wanted a picture of it.
BWMarkTractor my husband and his old tractor, he thought the pitchfork would make the photo more old looking.
BWPlow I was driving around and spotted this, thought it was neat.
BWRockChurch
I've always like this old church.
Thanks to everyone who is particiapating in the challenge, it was more of a challenge than I thought it would be. Have a great afternoon! :o)
Like wilk, I took into consideration the limitations of the camera. I opted for a 400 speed Polariod. (The hemmorhoid of the photography world.)I opted to control only the time of day. When is the light really good? At sun-up and sun-down. Here's the only decent shots I would bother to show.
On the first shot and the cars I gently tweaked the dark level. The cat I tweaked normal...the last two are as is.
All I can say is thank God for the storm clouds.
Well, finally shot the last one and got it developed. This was a disposable digital (24 shots). Came out a little better than had feared. Printed 4X6 they don't look too bad, but once they are on the computer screen....well it isn't good. It really blew out the brights and the darks are so grainy. Other than a little cropping, they are as they came out. So here's the first group, outdoors. Then a comparison sunset shot, first the disposable sunset 1 and the same place with the canon Sunset 2 . Not editing, just a little cropping.
Needless to say, I am spoiled with a real camera.
......and, I use the word fun lightly.........First off, thank you, Robin, for this challenge. I must say, it is the most challenging challenge I have ever participated in. I went digital almost 4 years ago, and have not regretted it even the first time; this challenge proves I made the right choice. I get frustrated sometimes now, but nothing like I did when I used this disposable camera! Anyway, I present to you my snapshots made with that thing they called a camera.........disposable fun
At least you'll have a good laugh today! Lol............
For a couple of these, I am comparing the disposable camera and the Olympus. See what you think.
We were up in Crivitz for the weekend. Of course the first chore was cutting the grass.

A group of tornadoes went through about 25 miles or so west of our Crivitz place a couple weeks ago. Saturday afternoon we drove over to see the damage. Here are two shots. I will be posting more damage in a day or so. A group of women arrived while we were there, so I used them to give you an idea of how high the trees were snapped off. There were many, many trees exactly like these.

Some are crooked and my knee showed up in the fern shot, but these are just as they came from the cameras. No PSing at all.
Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoyed.

Thought I had chopped off part of the chair...guess what, I didn't.
Stay cool..it was 92 degrees today.
Just shot some random things:Took a few of the Studio Studio 2.
A Pond shot for which I could not resist a Pond Manipulation. It was so grainy that I thought it ought to be made really, really grainy for effect.
I am going to say a special thank you to the camera gods for my SLR. And, Robin, you apparently know the definition of the word "challenge".
Shoot...pray...drop off at "Wally World". Load CD and post, knowing it is hard to make chicken soup out of chicken poop. Guard View Sandworks Mom..why are you so..Beautiful? Muscle Beach Beach Boy Now that is it,but I couldn't resist tweeking two of these as shown below. Guard View mod Beach Boy mod
I thought, how hard could it be? Just point and shoot right. Here are some samples.
