Challenge: Disposable Fun

A Big Thanks to Kitzi for the great water challenge!  There were lots of great shots!

We all know it's the photographer not the camera, so I thought it would be fun to see what everyone can come up with when using a disposable camera.

This is what I came up with.

barn and silo
wheat and trees
rock church
cemetery
horses
horse shoes
deer leaving
tiki torch
Jordan portrait
close up lilly
butterfly

Please show the good and the bad.  Please minimal psing, I just cropped when I scanned them in.

Mainly have fun!

Next up CanonFodder!

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Fathers day!  :o)

Looks to be fun, in fact, I've allready started on the challenge. Looks like your close ups didn't turn out too well. Just were do these cameras start to focus -- 6 feet? I do think the tiki torch is excellent.

Thanks for the water challenge, kitzi. Enjoyed looking at all the fantastic posts. This looks like a fun challenge, Robin! I used disposable cameras 'til Christmas last year and it taught me not to waste film :) Gonna have lots of fun with this. I really like "Jordan portrait" and "tiki torch".

This is a real challenge. I like it!! Levels the playing field. And brings us all back to basics...lighting and focus. Great challenge! (Now...the hard part will be trying not to take 15 shots of each image like I do with digital.)

First, Thanks kitzi for the great water challenge. I enjoyed shooting it and enjoyed all the great shooting by others. Robin, this new challenge sounds /challenging/. (So as not to be redundant, I merely repeated myself.) You gave us some fine examples of what works and what doesn't work. I will be the first to admit that, /like others that I bet are afraid to admit it/, my initial reaction upon seeing the theme was something like, "*Man!* this is /silly/! I own in excess of $29.99 worth of camera equipment, and now I have to buy more? A throw away, no less?" But the more I thought about it, the more appealing and challenging it has become. It'll be like when I was a kid with my Brownie Hawkeye. There are almost as many things to remember when using a disposable as there are when using a DSLR. Things like - Can't control shutter speed; Can't control aperture; Can't control DOF; Can't zoom in; Can't zoom out; Can't shoot macros; Can't control light; Can't this; Can't that and Can't something else. And most importantly on any relatively close shots - parallax, parallax, parallax. This will be fun and, I hope, not too embarassing.

    - Mmmmmm... Multiplicative

I'm with everyone. Sounds like fun. I'll try and pick one up sometime this week. Thanks kitzi for the water challenge!

Thanks everyone! I was a little apprehensive in asking people to go buy a disposable camera, but I decided to just go for it. Like Pyro said there are lots of things to remember, I kept wanting to see the picture I had just taken. Lowe, I can send you half of my allowance, that would be $2.50. Hope you all have fun with it. :o)
