SIM_NH_01 SIM_NH_02 Shot these within walking distance of my home in Southern New Hampshire. I live in an area that offers a lifetime of wonderful photo opportunities all within a ten mile radius.

I just noticed that my next picture was going to be my 500th post here....Hummmm, I don't have any "special" picture, or anything spectacular...nothing that you could admire...nothing as refined or polished as the works of SG, Wilk, Candice, AnyMooseHero...etc, etc...all of the other greats that post here. But as I look at this post in comparison to my first post here, I can tell....yep, I can tell a difference. Thanks for all of the help, encouragement and critique without it I couldn't have advanced the few short steps that I have....I still have a long way to go yet!!!!
I love the St. Louis zoo. It is a great place to just stroll thru and take photos. And its free! A Simple pleasure. I got to go Sunday, here are a couple of the photos.

We got there early hoping that the animals would be more active, as you can see, they were already wore out. :o)
Have a wonderful weekend! :o)

The first image is for the Simplicity challenge Looking for Dinner The second image is of an eagle that flew into a tree in the yard next to mine after the storm to dry out. Eagle Sillouette Then the amazing SUNSET followed by 1 more view of the Edge of Night
Just two more pics of wildflowers taken during recent wanderings in the Oquirrh Mountains of Utah. The first one was taken high up in the Oquirrhs near Kennecott Utah Copper's open-pit copper mine. The day was cloudy, with isolated thunderstorms, and these small daisy-like wildflowers were speckled with raindrops Rain Speckled The second pic was taken in Ophir Canyon, part way up the dirt road above town. I don't know what type of wildflower this one is, but I liked the effect it had - seemingly growing out of the rock Wildflower
Today was the first full day of school and it was a 90+ day as far as temperature. We did stay cool enough and we made it through the day just fine. Here are some more pictures I took at my younger sisters house on Saturday.
Time For A New One It was time to remodel the old lake house. The old screen door had to go. It was unusually cold for August, so we were thankful for some heat. It Was Cold We pulled out the old sawhorses from the shed to start putting up new sheetrock and were glad they still were kicking. Got The Job Done When we cranked up the generator and power tools, they all worked in fine and we looked up and were thankful the lektricity still worked. Old Doesn't Mean Useless As usual, we thought we were done after God knows how many trips to Lowe's, but one more and we were finally finished. . .for now. Without all these simple tools and wonders, we still might be working on the old lake house. One More Trip
Simple sensuality abounds and it is her own doing...but who am I to resist ? Hot Tomato Two Hot Tomatoes
Sleep of the Innocent When my granddaughter was living with us, I used to steal into her room at night just to watch her sleep, this was one of my favorite photos. She seems so innocent, with no cares or worries to claim her peaceful sleep.
Simply sea foam and waves washing across dark rocks. But you can feel the power and pull of the ocean.
My son had been over seas when they gave him emergency leave to come home to be with his 3 month premature daughter. This photo was taken when he first held his daughter. None of us had held her so he could be the first. It is hard to tell, but he had tears running down his face and was asking God to let her live. She is now an beautiful 10 year old girl. I took out the hospital machines because I wanted you to focus on only the two of them.A Father's Love
It was so so humid today. One of my little girls started asking at noon if we were going home soon so she could sleep. I prefer to think about flowers now that the school day is done.
