Bi-Weekly Challenge: People in Seoul

Perhaps this is a bit of a cheat as my daughter took these.  I am rather isolated away from home at the moment but didn't want to miss Cooker's challenge.  My daughter had the opportunity to take a one year work assignment in Seoul, South Korea and has been there a few months.  These are a few of the shots she took; some with her iphone, some with a Nikon Coolpix.  One of her with a few of her very Asian coworkers.  The subway system is extensive and graffiti free, and not usually empty.  Rush hour is very crowded.  A popular evening past time it to hangout in very smoky, very loud Hooka Bars.  Being a concerned father she explained that they just smoke flavored tobacco.

I know it probably ticks you guys off that I’m somewhat of a drive-by poster, but I’ve been working 84 hour weeks, for the most part, since November of last year and that leaves little time to shoot or enjoy the efforts of others that have the time to get out.

This job I’m on now near Wilmington, NC has offered me a few chances to get in some time with my camera and I’ll share a few with you in the next few days. Thanks for looking!

A few years ago, I spent a several weeks working in jolly 'ole England. I was in the northern part and not the typical tourist destinations, but beautiful nonetheless. My favorite shot was this spooky old tree. Here are some others I liked:

York Minster

Boat

York Skyline

Backlit Tree

Ferris Wheel (This one is a little fuzzy but I like the clouds and composition)

and QUACK!!! (actually HONK!!! but this one is for the duck)

CC is always welcome. I just wish I had the opportunity to re-shoot them! ;-)

Free Bird

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.

Bye, bye, its been a sweet love.
Though this feeling I can't change.
But please don't take it badly,
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame.
But, if I stayed here with you girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you'll never change.
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.
Lord help me, I can't change.

Catchin' the Green

Tried catching a ‘little green’ up here in the white country.  So I stopped at my favourite family operated business.

Outside temps were in the low teens…. Celsius, so inside I shed my outer shells.

The aroma from the earth was intoxicating. Spilling Tears

(Spilling tears is an example of which angle to shoot and present) Any hints here?

Trying to shoot some perspective. Boxed to go soon

Lately I've been talking to you guys, before and while I'm shooting....The problem is you never answer when you're supposed to ..... perspective road

Down on the bum stuff here Underneath it all

Sub-title: Making a rubber duck

First you go out a buy some crayons.
Next, get some modeling clay and make a mold (an older duckie sppeds the process along)
Third, melt the crayons in a pot, and pour into the mold
Lastly you have a new rubber duck; hmmm, looks like I should have melted the crayons a little longer.

(Crayons - Malaysia
Rubber duckies - China
Stove, pots and the rest - who knows)

Every year my husband and I take my son to the St. Patrick's day parade in NYC, yesterday was a beautiful day for it. Sunny and 68-ish degrees. Some people in particular really  stood out There were lots of band members being  attacked by instruments and  ill fitting hats . My personal favorites are the  tough guys in knee-hi's  Bagpipers . Even the  ALIENS come down for the parade. Yep,  everyones Irish on St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! May the luck O' the Irish be with ye!
