I bought some native wildflowers...
...to add to my flower beds. What I didn't count on was the back-to-back snowstorms that kept me from planting them. So the pots sat in my kitchen window and the increase in temps made them bloom! Made photographing them easier!

I had to redo the last story as I wanted the particular photo to come up correctly and now I think that it will. Jesus on the Cross2 Sorry for the redo. I find if you wait to long to write a new story it can be easy to forget the finer aspects of waiting so long. So might as well repost the other 2 photos as well. Jesus on the Cross3 Jesus on the Cross3 . I hope that your Easter kept you hoppin.
Visitor for the weekend - - -
Our Grandson Makiah was here for the weekend and we took him snowboarding out to our local ski resort (Caberfae Peaks) .
Good Friday In Greenwood Indiana
Good Friday has arrived and the Church that I attend began a tradition last year where they Portray Jesus on the Cross. This dramatic scene is acted out on the corner of the Churches property. It lasts for 12 hours from 7am to 7pm and has actors from the Church position them selves on the Cross as Christ would appear. Here are 3 of my many photographic representations of the scene. This last on is closeup and is edited. 1 2 3

Hello all, I am a new/old member here at photographica. I was just updating some of my web visits, and that's why I'm here. Here are some of my favorite photos in the town where I work. It is an old mill town which holds much beauty in my opinion. These were taken in Bradford RI.

Touch of Spring
This past wkend saw this little fellow in one of trees while looking through the kitchen window, took the shot from inside the house 'cause I knew he would have left if attempt had been made to get outside to try and capture this blue bird
had to do a bit of cropping on the bird in order to see it better...
Another little touch of spring are the tulips trying to bloom..a couple of yrs ago I planted pink tulips in memory of a niece who lost her fight with cancer....this is the third yr for the tulips and do believe they are more leaf than blooms...hopefully this cold spell we are having will not keep too many of them from blooming... tulip
Stay warm and enjoy the day!
I'm a bit behind in posting. These were shot at a local "Frosty Nipple" sailboat race back in January. I'm the yacht club photographer. It was a pretty warm day, about 60° but without much wind, so I got some nice reflections in the water as they maneuvered about waiting for the start.
Reflections-3 (note: I used a little Topaz on this one)
Then they sounded the horn to start the race, they pulled in the sails and the boats all took off like impatient race horses and started jockeying for position headed into the first turn.
Duck got a new nest - SOLUTION!!!
Really I got one. But before I get a chance to move in, some things got to be changed/upgraded.
But first: A What Is It? Really, what is it. Located near the ceiling, don't know if there is any wires connected to it or not. And before I start tearing things up, I like to know what I'm messing with.
Thumbnail/detail. House is wired for cable/phone/Internet. I'm thinking it is some sort of a wireless antenna?
Sorry about the poor picture quality, but it was low light, no tripod, and a point and shoot.
EDIT (ADD): IT IS A FIRE ALARM, ABOUT 20 YEARS OLD. DOESN'T NEED BATTERIES, WORKS BY WINDING IT UP (SOMEHOW). WAS TALKING TO SOMEONE, AND HE SAID IT WORKS OFF HEAT. I THINK I'LL KEEP IT UP THERE, JUST FOR DECORATION.
MACK - I GUESS YOU WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG.
Going to Doggie Heaven
Taking Forrest for a walk for his last time. I lost my faithful companion of 10 years and I created this Photoshop image of my last walk with him to guide him to the afterlife.
Several years ago a lady I worked with gave me a 'starting' of what she called an old fashioned primrose...She was originally from Lebanon and she said that everytime she moved she always took a 'starting' of this flower that was a reminder of her mother...I do not know how many times she moved but she lived here for many years (she died about 9 or 10 yrs ago...gosh time does seem to go by fast)..every year this flower blooms in March..and I think I have had these for about 15 yrs...(I seperate them sometimes and have given a 'start' to a couple of others).. Springtime
On the way home late Monday evening (around 7:15pm) saw this in the sky and pulled off the road to shoot--did not realize it was a DBL rainbow until looking at my pics the next evening....
Have a great day!
