What the heck...

...I wasn't going to originally post these but figured what the heck. We went to the San Bernard NWR-Hudson Woods Unit for a hike on Wed. Nice trail but not long enough for me. The water in the lake was extremely low. Saw lots of wildlife but most were too quick for me to even put the camera to my eye. As we entered the gate this guy was there to greet us. There were tons of dragonfly's. This big guy seemed to be flattered to have his picture taken. Roseate Skimmer .

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Awesome shots Cindy!! I've never seen a dragonfly that color. It looks like he's hanging on in a windstorm. Why wouldn't you post these????

WOW!!

lol Angela-I have no idea...my fingers have just been kinda lazy lately on the computer I guess. Might just be the funk.

Great shots! I really liked the first one especially with the brown color of the grasshopper standing out against the diffuse green background.

Your dragonfly appears to be bowing down to you - as well he should. Great shots, Cindy. The colors are great, the composition and exposure are great. Fine bugs!

I'm with them . . . don't know why you didn't post these before - fabulous light on your grasshopper and focus too . . . and the color in dragonfly - well, exceptional!!

Both wonderful close ups, with great details and color. :o)

Another Wow!

Amazing detail!

Yes Cindy, the wow factor is off the charts on both shots. Very nice.

Wow Cindy, what a beautiful skimmer. The grasshopper photo is excellent as well the way he is isolated from the background.

Very Well Done!!

Boy are these great. I love them.

In Guy, I like the glare in his eye, that is what caught my eye---beautiful color in skimmer and the angle you were able to get him is great. He even posed long enough to also have good dof in this one.
