An evening at Lake Elsinore

By Buckmiester written 7/5/08 1:54 PM, published 7/5/08 3:13 PM

This is my 1st attempt at fireworks.  I really wish the Obvious Troll had posted a little sooner. 8-)    I did a lot of experimenting, but the shots I chose were all on the fireworks setting.  I have some with longer exposure but they did not come out like I wanted.  I played with one shot on PS but the others are as shot.

As I sit here watching the playoff of the 2008 US Open, I just couldn't resist entering the theme.  There are rails, sort of. 8-)

What a beautiful day I spent @ Torrey Pines.Torrey_Pines_no_9

And Mickelson certainly didn't play up to expectation or ability.Phil Mickelson on Putting Green

As Tiger begins his approach on 17  1 shot down, I'm still confident he will win the Open.Tiger on Putting Green

Remember, there are rails. 8-)

Thanks for looking.

Catch the wind challenge.

By Buckmiester written 5/14/08 11:06 AM, published 5/14/08 11:06 AM

My first draft. (that was a bad pun very bad pun)  One shot is a little unconvential but I like it.  I'll let ya'll be the judge of that.  Another shot is a rerun but changed a bit due to a suggestion by Mr Quacker.

The wind can be so serendipitous.  At times it is an aid and at other times a handicap.

The beauty can be demonstrated by the simple soaring of a bird.  wind_pirate

In my case it can be an exhilarating experience. one_with_the_wind  I soloed for the first time on Memorial Day of 07 at Torre Pines.  As I said, it was exhilarating.

At times the wind can cause me to reflect about where I am. gusting_old_glory

And sometimes, being hardheaded, I must go Against_the_Wind

Comments & critiques are always welcome.  Ya'll have a great day.

Unemployed Newbie

Hi Folks:

After viewing your photos for a coupla years I've finally decided to get my feet wet.  I recently became unemployed and you can only spend soooo much time looking for new employment.  I hope I can figure out the correct links.

Am I Blue?  Am I Blue?

This probably my clearest photo. Spoonbill

I understand this photo is not very good, but it is meaningful to me.  While visiting my mother in NW Missouri I came across this new nesting pair @ Squaw Creek near Mound City, MO.  During migration season in December I've seen as many as 100 adult and 70 to 80 immature eagles in this area.  As far as I can ascertain this is only the 2nd nesting pair in the area. New nesting pair -- Squaw Creek 4-08

Due to the system difficulties this is about my 10th try to get this saved. 8-) I hope it comes out alright.

Constructive criticism is always welcome.  Thanks for your time & patience.
