...for the amount of time since my last post. So I will not make excuses, but rather try & make up for it with a post of some captures made over the last 4 months.

A glimpse of London

Thought I'd share some shots from a recent trip to London with you.

St Pancras Station

The St Pancras station shot is just a part of it - it's massive! It has recently been refurbished & is now the new station for the Eurostar 180 mph train to Europe. We are taking it to France tomorrow for a 3 day break, so hopefully will have some good shots to share with you after Christmas.

Finally, a truly wonderful Christmas to you all, and may 2008 bring everything you wish for yourselves!!

Watercolours

By Bugsy written 11/26/07 12:37 PM, published 11/26/07 12:37 PM

In exploring the wonders of Photoshop, I have taken to converting some shots to watercolour. It works especially well when you have a not so good shot, but there is some potential in it. The thumb for example was in extremely low light, too far away for flash plus the car was moving away from me. It was very blurred, and headed for the digital bin, but I like the finished result in watercolour. They look great when printed & framed at high quality. Here are some others to compare. Do you agree?

Off the beaten track

By Bugsy written 11/25/07 3:24 AM, published 11/26/07 12:09 PM

My work often has me travelling quite a way from home, taking me past some scenic, photo opportunity countryside. Trouble is, it is all too easy to hit the motorway (freeway) for the 3 hour return journey. This particular return trip turned into 7 hours. These are just some of the reasons why.

You call it Fall....

....we call it Autumn, but whatever you call it don't you just love the photo opportunities it brings?

You asked for it...

By Bugsy written 11/20/07 9:01 AM, published 11/21/07 3:20 AM

...as I used it as a thumbnail recently so here are The Dasies Thanks for asking!

And just who is shooting
Whom in this shot?

So there I was sitting and patiently waiting for something to happen worth capturing when this Bird landed infront of me with his Lunch

Lucky I had my 300mm zoom on as it was all over in about 20 secs.

And finally a couple for the bi weekly "Angles" from London's financial district

Unpredictable Weather

By Bugsy written 11/18/07 9:18 AM, published 11/19/07 8:03 AM

I don't manage to get North to the Lake District in the UK often, but when I do I always make sure I have my camera with me. The weather always seems to be so unpredictable, but can really add to the atmosphere - don't you think?

With a little help from my friends...

By Bugsy written 7/31/06 2:31 AM, published 7/31/06 2:31 AM

I've been "struggling" a little with my new toy, and my latest posts have suffered somewhat from "over exposure" aided and abetted by my in experience in Photoshop. However, with help and constructive criticism from the family here at Photographica, I've been given some guidance and help to encourage me along. So here goes with some more. Must say that they always appear different (lighter/over-exposed)on my PC at work, than when I view them on my home one. Guess it's down to calibration? Here goes...Popup LinkStart of Loch Ness
