Yesterday attemped my hand at taking pictures of water and trying to get the 'soft' effect.  After downloading noticed that I sure do have a lot of dirty spots so guess that means a little extra work...

  Last month a  business in Gatlinburg closed after 40+years and I just had to go one last time to see this statue in the outside garden--thousands of people have visited this    Eye.

We all have a special photo that has an extra special meaning..this is the one I have chosen for my best of 2007, it was taken May, 2007 of my son and grand-daughter, something that I did not know March 13, 2007 if it would happen again...

Can't believe how close I was able to get to this deer while at Cades Cove the other week..I think they might fit the challenge, not sure.

For those in the'cold' area sure hope you are staying warm...It is 16 degrees here this morning.

 Last week when sister was in for a couple of days we went to Cades Cove one afternoon..we saw 29 deer--Kay has the big lens so mine are not near as close as hers but was so glad to be able to see them just had to show a couple ````

  Last month while on a 3 day get-away with another sister and cousin we had a visitor to the cabin..Visitor

  Lately it seems as though I have been going through a Whirlwind and the 3 days was very relaxing, enjoying nature and not answering phones or questions..here is one interpretation of inner peace for me   Peace.

In on the tail end of the theme for black and white...Noticed this old Shack one day and stopped along side of rode in order to 'shoot'it, the bldg is in a deserted area and no way for me to get to it except view from the highway, there is a small river between road and bldg.

One evening was at one of sister's and the pond on her area with the lone chair seemed to be Reflecting on the days problems.

    Hope everyone has been staying cool!!

   

   For those of us who really can’t remember our childhood very well it is hard to come up with something to tell..I am the oldest of seven and it seems as though I never really had a childhood per se (always had to help Mom with the smaller children).  
  I barely remember playing with an aunt (2 ½ yrs. older than me)..am sure there was fun time with my younger sisters/brother just can’t ‘member..    
  When I got married my youngest sister was four year old so really was not around the last three siblings very much except as an older (bossy) sister who came by on the weekends.
 One of the things I remember well is my great grandmother who always carried a clutch purse with a gun in it (for protection, she said). When my grandmother would come down from Ohio on the way to see her mom in SC she would take me with her, and some of those times are etched in my mind even today.
  My dad had a love/passion with fishing, it was his favorite pastime and can remember the fresh fish he would catch and mom would fry them for us.
  I met my husband when I was 15 (he was almost 20) and remember telling mom and dad that he was 18 (just a little fib so I could date him..also he was my first official date)
  A few years ago I scanned a few of the old pictures and have pulled a few of them to show as my ‘memories’

  Isn't it amazing the energy children have, was watching grand daughter the other afternoon and do believe she could have stayed active for quite a while doing this ~~~, I got tired just watching her...
