I was near Lake Garda, Italy and was amazed by the colors 100_2898.  Even overlooking a town from a dimly lit tower things are colorful 100_2893.  She looks content if you ask me 100_2895.  

I have never built or flown a kite but I have to imagine the satisfaction of creating, building, and flying one must be exhilarating.  Every year Washington DC hosts the kite festival to coincide with the blooming of the cherry_blossoms .  I kid you not, there are kites everywhere_

You can find everything from traditional kites to dragons  and purple_sharks

I "de-wired" myself tonight and turned off the lights for Earth Hour.  It was nice to settle down with the acoustic and forget about life for a while.2  

As I walked around in complete darkness wondering what I could try to photograph I found the one thing that gives me strength.  100_3691

For the last 17 years I have looked to those Stripes and Bars to keep me going while I have been on active duty.  

On a lesser note, I took both photos @ f3.2 with a 6-18 second apt.  This was my first time experimenting with that so plz excuse the technical defects : )

I'm not sure if I was intrigued or embarrassed at some of the things hidden deep in the junk drawer.  If this used to keep my gym clothes locked, that is one old lock according to my belly.  I used to torment my cat with this Laser.  If memory serves me right it went to the bottom of the drawer because she kept breaking things chasing the light.  There it is...I have been looking for that E string for quite a while now junk_drawer_snake

Who cares, as long as we are together!

I recently went to Negril, Jamaica and should have come back with better photos.  I was so awe-struck with the culture and the friendliness of the people I almost forgot I had a camera.

These three photos should garner the proverbial D- but I would like to share them anyway.  Cheers and happy new year.

I tried to “catch” a base-runner stealing second and ended up catching another fan in the photo Snap Shot. After a few trials and errors I thought this view offered decent action in the lower right hand corner and solid lines in the outfield grass  Cropped. The granularity stinks but I was happy to capture the home-town Nationals get an out.

You never know what you are going to find around any given corner in Washington DC.  I was heading to the Smithsonian National Museum of Art this past fall and almost missed an alley cutout that hosted this fountain. A Fountain on the grounds of one of the Smithsonian Institutions
