i dropped by the surf contest at Mavericks in half moon bay, california on friday. the waves there can get to be 50' or bigger, but on friday, the waves peaked at around 30 feet. not the best viewing on from the shore, but i did manage to capture some of the action. enjoy!

A friend of mine volunteers at the Long Marine Lab here in Santa Cruz. She was kind enough to pull some strings and bring me and a friend behind the scenes to meet all the animals they have there. Long Marine Lab is purely a scientific operation, and not often open to the public. it was a fun day i won't soon forget (cause the otters are so darn cute!)

I finally obtained a nikon d100 digital SLR camera. I am super stoked, and glad to be sharing a few shots from my first day with it. shot most of these in my studio lighting class.

i've been making polaroid transfers. my grandfather was a mariachi. another, younger version of grandpa. he traveled the world as a mariachi. i found an old book of slides he collected as he traveled the world. some of the slides are 30+ years old. they made for some neat transfers: ruins japan thailand
