This little fellow kept me entertained at school last week, he kept dropping and picking up whatever he has in his beak and talking to me, birdwithbeakfull2007 , Can anyone tell me what kind of bird this is: birdy20070425_5416a , and I think this one is also another one of the previous birds, but front view, both were in the same tree. prettybird20070425_5 . I got this little guy at the college, finally managed to get some of him staying still that is lol, dragonfly20070424_52 . I was taking pics on April 1 at the sundial bridge with my oldest and we were watching this goose and two ducks swimming, got pics of them of course. Looks like they are playing duck, duck goose hehe. duck_duck_gooseanyon . Here are the ducks by themselves, one is a mallard, duck20070401_3628a , Mallard20070401_3630 . I got the goose up close too and another gooose of a different color that came along while I was taking the pics. whatUlookinat2007040 , utalkintome20070401_ . These guys were enjoying the water as the sun was starting to come down at the Grass Lake Rest area, when I had gone up to get my girls around the beginning of the month. geesegrasslake200703 , now this guy was really enjoying posing for pics it seems, SeagullGrassLake2007 . I will have to wait until tomorrow, if I remember to post the pics I got of Mt. Shasta, the full moon shining on the Sacramento river, and some of my girls and their cousins/friends from their visit. I hope you enjoy the pics and hopefully someone can tell me what the two birds are that in the tree.

Hiya there everyone, before I start posting the pics That I got yesterday, I wanted to post this butterfly,butterflylayingeggs2  . If you look close you can see she is laying eggs, we were lucky enough to get lots of pics of her the other day when she was. Now on to my day trip yesterday.

We decided to go up to McCloud falls to get lots of pics, of course we had to stop back over and my roommates dad's place first to get pics of the dark purple tulips that just opened, deeppurpletulip20070 . Then we had some lunch and headed out of town. We Stopped at the Elementary school in Castella to get pics of Castle Crags, CastleCrags20070324_ , then onward the journey. We decided to take a side trip down ski park highway going to Mt.Shasta ski lodge, talk about great pics, Mt_Shastainclouds200 . We then moved on to the parking lot at the ski lodge to get more pics, MtShstaCluds20070324  , Mt_ShstaClouds200703 . The clouds were moving in and around Mt.Shasta when we were getting the pics, you can see some of the shadows of the clouds on the mountain. I love using zoom on my new camera.

We then left the lodge and headed towards McCloud falls. We stopped at the vista point right by the exit to the upper falls to get more pics of shasta, since more clouds were around it, MtShastaClouds200703 . We then headed to Upper McCloud Falls, here is one of my pics from there, UpperMcCloudFalls200 . We got in the car and headed down to the middle falls, MiddleMcCloudFalls20 . I took some time to get pics of the moon above us directly while at the middle falls, MoonMiddleMcCloudFal . We got some great sunset pics while getting ready to leave the middle falls, sunsetUpperMcCloudFa. We still had some light so we headed to the lower falls, here Java taught his sister and I how to use some of the settings on our camera's lol. LowerMcCloudFallsatn , that is a pic that I took of the falls when it was getting too dark to see, I used my EV setting on my camera as java showed me and got a pretty good one. Here is a pic of the moon again, from the lower falls, using manual mode, forcing focus and another setting, experimenting with going higher or lower on the numbers, MoonLowerMcCloudFall . Now I know how to get pics of the moon, stars and planets at night lol, and of waterfalls and such at night. We had a great day, got home around 10 pm. I had almost filled up my 2 gb card for the new camera, I downloaded about 815 pics. Have a great night everyone.

I thought I would share some of my first shots with my camera when I was given it almost three years ago. This one was taking toward the end of Jan in 2204, I just loved the frost that was on the plants that morning. Here is some on one of our grape leaves, Popup Linkfrost on leaves. I had gone out walking around the property here to get pics of the flowers and plants blooming. I found this pretty little flower and didn't know it's name until Javabeanz told me, its a cats ears. Popup Linkcats ears.

In July of 2004 javabeanz and I went to Crescent city for the fouth, then left Brookings and traveled up the coast to Florence, then over to Eugene, then Mt. Hood to camp for two days before we picked up my daughters. This is a pic of Whaleshead there on the coast, it was really windy taking the pic, winds from both angles lol. But a beautiful sight to me. Popup LinkWhaleshead. We spotted these on our way into our camping spot that night, July 6. Popup LinkBear Grass. I asked the ranger the next day what they were, she told me bear grass. They only bloom every seven years and that was the year for them. We went exploring the next day. Went to Multnomah Falls to get some more pics, here is one of the pics I took. Popup LinkMultnomah Falls. I love trying to catch the power as the water cascades down into the pool below. I couldn't resist getting pics of all the dogs there two. These two are welsch corgies, and they look just like the two my brother has. Popup LinkWelsh corgies. We went a different way on the way back to the campground and got some more pics. Here is one of the columbia river gorge from one of the vista points. I used my zoom to get as close as I could to it from up that high.  Popup LinkColumbiar River Gorge. We got pics of Mt. Hood on the way back up there. It was from a different way than we had gone before. Popup LinkMt. Hood.

Here is a pic of one of my middle daughter's bed buddies, lol. She was sleeping and I went to go check on her and saw this, so I took pics of him. He finally got tired of it and started moving, so I woke my daughter up to show her. Oh boy! she freaked out, it had been trying to get under the covers with her. He finally got the idea to get totally away from her and me, since she was trying to kill him. It is a woof spider, even though it looks like a brown recluse.

Popup LinkMt.Shasta1. This was a better view, not as much smoke from all the fires.

Here is a pic of the Lower Mcloud Falls, it is really quiet there, I love hearing the water falling into the river below it. Popup LinkLower Mcloud Falls. Here is a pic of me standing on some of the rocks next to the lower falls, javabeanz had to take it. Popup LinkKelatlowerfalls.

Here is a pic of the middle Falls. Popup LinkMiddleMcloudFalls.  I took this pic from way up at one of the obeservation points by the trail. It was pretty frightening look down all that way. Here is a pic of one of the four kittens my middle daughter's cat patches helped produce. The kitten's name is bugs and she was having fun in the bathroom in the sink watching me. Popup Linkbugsinthesink. Here is another one of the four kittens patches fathered. She sure is a beauty, name is Panda. Popup LinkPandawatchingus. Here is a pic of the chipmunk at the Grass Lake rest area, in this one he could have  been thinking, maybe if I stand still the nut with the camera wont notice me watching them, lol.  Popup Linkchipmunkclimbing . Then I managed to get either the same one or another one in front of some rocks, maybe an entrance to a cave there. Popup Linkchipmunkinfrontofrocks . Here is a interesting pic I got while taking pics of the spider web on the ponderosa pine bark. See if you can see the face behind the web. It just jumps out at you. Popup Linkfacebehindtheweb. The last one in this series is of our beautiful Mt. Shasta, problem is couldn't see it clearly with all the smoke and clouds shrowding it.  Popup LinkMtshastashrowded.  We had a few fires going around northern California that was making us get the smoke down here in Redding and Anderson also. Shasta is definitely alot more beautiful when not behind smoke and clouds.
