This picture was taken just past sunrise for Steptoe Butte in the Palouse region of eastern Washington. If you look closely you can see the rows of wheat. Hope you enjoy it.
Hilltop Artists was established in Tacoma 1994 with a $20,000 grant to offer at risk kids an alternative to gangs and drugs. What they have now is an amazing program with many talented artists. I was honored with the opportunity to photograph them up close and talk with them. The faculty and staff are passionate about the project and their care for the kids was evident from the minute I walked in. The kids were all sensational. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the time I was able to spend watching them create their art. Read about Hilltop Artists www.hilltopartists.com For the challenge:

These are my two favorites:
Hope you enjoy! All comments welcome!
I've been out of power, heating and water for several days. Finally I have everything working again, and they say another wind storm is due in western Washington tonight. But like Jam9663 this is home now and I plan to stay.
These are for Jeffrey's challenge - a couple I shot this summer.

I spent a few hours photographing a friend in his garage while he was playing with his passion:hot rod (my favorite)
finished product the handle of a fireplace poker.
It was a long time coming, and it sure was nice for the short while it lasted, but...It's raining again in Washington.
Along with all the rain we've gotten in Washington this month, Mt. Rainier gathered a bit of snow.
