A Mushy Collection

By MrsMike written 6/7/06 7:12 PM, published 6/7/06 7:12 PM

The last few weeks we have had some new growths in our front yard. It is a strange collection of photos I have been taking for a few years now but these are the most recent. I hope to have some feedback on them. Thanks.

These Popup Linktwo are neighbors to this giant  Popup Linkone.
As you can see it was the size of my Popup Linkhand.
This mushy subject has a very interesting Popup Linktexture on both Popup Linksides.

As you can see in this Popup Linkcloseup it has a soft and fluffy feel.
As Savage would say like a marshmellow....'can't wait to see you back online girl.' :o)

My Popup Linkkids seem to be taking after their mother....lol.

Just a quick peek at some typical Popup LinkAmerican summer action shots from my family.
I don't know if Myra's counts as action cause she is just laying Popup Linkthere.
But Michael was really in full Popup Linkmotion.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.
Many smiles.

We went and got my camera this evening. I got a Sony 6.0mg 12x optical Steady Shot with the Carl Zeiss lens. It is not what I wanted the Canon SLR but he said this one should hold me for a few months till I get the other one. And let me tell you I am not disappointed so far and I have not even done a true test, only  Popup Linkout of the box shots with no instructions....LOL. That one was taken with the zoom all the way out...I was across a huge parking lot. I could not have done that with my old one. I can not even imagine what the Canon will do. Okay here are some better shots...I just jumped out of the car and caught this Popup Linkone, Popup Linktwo, and Popup Linkthree of a local pond in The Woodlands. If you look closely at one in the top left hand corner there is a fishing bobble thingy...lol.
Ok I had to get a Popup Linkcouple of  Popup Linkflower shots in there too. Popup LinkA sign test also.

I think I am happy with my temporary camera...I may have settled just to get a new camera but hey it is better then my broken one or my friends that I have been using.
I can not wait to get some real shots in tomorrow. If yall don't hear from me for a couple of days you know why...I am out finding new things to shoot.

LOL....

Have a wonderful extended weekend and for many the first day of summer break...atleast their kiddo's....smiles yall.

Myra is my only girl ... she can always make me Popup Linklaugh.
The Woodlands mall is one of the kids favorite Popup Linkplaces to Popup Linkplay. We love the Popup Linkcarousel Popup Linkeverytime we ride it. [if you missed me...i am in the mirror in 'places' ... lol].
My kids are the Popup Linkgreatest artist in the world.
Their use of color is great !!!
Thanks for letting me share.

Just a few tonight....

By MrsMike written 5/21/06 7:33 PM, published 5/21/06 7:33 PM

I borrowed a friends camera...a Sony something....mine is just about had it and because of car I had to wait on my new one. So here are a few shots I took...just a quick post tonight.

Here is a new Popup Linkcolt down the road that I have started calling whiskers....I was lucky to get this shot because the batteries died on me right after I took this one.

Then just had to share this one cause it was so funny. I had snapped a couple of picks of Annie sleeping and then she woke and looked at me with a look on her face that said, " Popup LinkWhats with the flash? , it was cute.

Then I decided to let everyone see the calmer side of Rico Popup Link"the rat on speed"  as someone has called him. He is my little cutie though. He sat perfectly still for me to snap this shot.
He is funny though....:o)

HERE AND THERE!!!

By MrsMike written 5/19/06 12:44 PM, published 5/19/06 12:44 PM

It is hard to believe that Popup Linkthis Popup Linkcute little Popup Linkstrip of a beach on Texas City Dike, a popular fishing pier in Galveston County, is the same place where things like this Popup Linkslimey pipe run all through the water. Texas City is known for its industrial area. I grew up about 15 or 20 miles from here and we used to visit often. It is still a great little cove to come and find shells and pieces of broken glass. I miss home alot... but now...

Another place that stays beautiful that we live closer to now, is Mercer Park and Botanical Gardens...that is where I got this Popup Linkunexpected  beautiful shot. I love everything in it. The reflection, the fish, the lily pads, my daughters hands and even the rock wall around it. Moments after this one of the fish nibbled her finger...it was so funny.
I also liked Popup Linkthe ripple in this shot to show that it is not just an upside down picture like my husband thought. LOL.

I am so enjoying Photographica so much and I feel like I am learning from some great teachers here...so here is an  Popup Linkapple for you all.

Smiles to all ;o)

First times and letting go.

By MrsMike written 5/17/06 9:06 PM, published 5/17/06 9:06 PM
I have loved photography as long as I can remember. When I was a kid I would go through old photo books and wonder who took that picture and when and why and where and so on...
In 2002 I got my first digital camera...a Fugifilm Finepix 2.1 megapixel.... That moment was so exciting...from those very Popup Linkfirst Popup Linkphotos I was hooked to finding different things to take pictures of Popup Linksunsets, Popup Linktrees,  Popup Linkflowers,  Popup Linkclouds and on and on. I found that I liked to take Popup Linkweird and unusual Popup Linkcloseup shots too. Forever addicted to photography and limited by such a small megapixel I will soon be moving up to a much more advanced camera and getting to have some more firsts but also letting go of a camera that captured some Popup Linkgreat shots of my Popup Linkdaughter my Popup Linkson and of  Popup Linknatures simple beauty!!!

Hello Friends!!!

By MrsMike written 5/15/06 10:46 PM, published 5/15/06 10:46 PM

I just wanted to introduce Popup Linkmyself and say hello to all the great artist out there. I did not know what to say so I thought I would just introduce everyone to my family and town. Well I was born in Houston,Popup LinkTexas but live in Popup LinkMontgomery County now. I have alot of pride in my Popup Linkcountry. My dad was military but years before I was thought of. My wonderful Popup Linkhusband, Mike, served in Desert Storm. So I am very proud of them. I have Popup Linktwo children at home with me. My daughter,Popup LinkMyra, is 9. We like to hang at the Popup Linkmall and shop or go to Popup LinkMarket Street and shop some more. Michael is 5 now and starts school this next school year. But right now he likes to play in the Popup Linkwater and with Popup Linkfrogs.  The rest of the family consist of Popup LinkSnickers, Popup LinkTisha, Popup LinkRico, Popup LinkAnnie and Popup LinkZinger.

I have been away from my camaera for a while now but after being on here for a few days I really want to pursue my passion for photography again. I hope to share some my favorite stories and photos with you soon. Thanks for looking through my eyes for a few moments and letting me share.
