Mini lunch time adventure

By MudMistress written 11/1/06 2:15 PM, published 11/1/06 7:14 PM

Yesterday and today the weather was just beautiful, and I could not resist rambling around to see what I could see.

I found a few things that made me smile, I hope you'll like them too!

Looking during my lunch hour

Solely for Amusement Purposes

By MudMistress written 10/18/06 9:51 AM, published 10/18/06 3:15 PM

We took a long day-trip (hit 4 states)last weekend, but I took relatively few shots.

One I particularly like is this... "Better watch that first step Betsy... it's a real DOOZY!"  Why the barn was situated on top of the silo's... we'll never know!

But our destination was a day at "the Great Escape" - a 6-flags amusement park.  I saw lots of
Faces to Amuse....

Falling all over the place

I haven't posted in ages... haven't felt motivated to pick up the camera in months... but with all the foliage, I could NOT resist.  Bear with me... I'm out of practice - and all were hand-held shots.

Quiet riot

Hope you enjoy them!

Thanks to all who participated in the invisible challenge.  I was really impressed by all the unique and creative ideas for shots.  I myself have been so busy I've barely posted anything... but I've been watching you!!

Here's my last little contribution to the invisible theme, taken at a local military cemetary.

Invisible Honor -Popup LinkForce Field

Thanks again... and I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait to see what Jump1ok has in store for us!!

Popup Link"Can you smell the distinct yet invisible aroma of cow farm during a heat wave????"

Popup Link"Yah, manh!"
(Sorry about the poor quality here, I just had to toss in a shot of this Rasta-moo.  He had hay hanging down on both sides of his head like long dreadlocks.)

Challenge: On the wings of the wind

By MudMistress from Jul 30, 2006, to Aug 13, 2006
First off, thanks to the pink one for the fun "Seeing Double" challenge--!

I thought of a few interesting ideas for this challenge, but my conscience made me keep it clean and decent.  Darn that conscience!!

My challenge to you is for you to show me the invisible.

There is power in the air... although we cannot see it, we can feel it.  And so, I ask that you capture that power in your pictures.

There is much that can fit into this challenge:  a flying bug, or Popup Linkbird, or a plane, or maybe superman... (hmm... he was part of one of my other challenge ideas too... ahem!) You could shoot flags, smoke, Popup Linksails... or maybe even your Popup Linkbrother (that's my bro Joe.  not quite sure what happened during uploading though... there seems to be a seam in the shot now?)  Owell...

Be creative, find or make wind, (make it, not break it) and have fun!!

Next challenger up... Jump1ok!!!

Darn, it rained AGAIN.  I took a little walk down to the lake, and it was very calm, cool, and collected.  As usual.
Popup LinkNoon-time View
I tried to take a picture of the mosquito that was biting me... but... I lost patience and smooshed it. (Don't worry, I'm weird, but I wouldn't post bug-guts.)  Needless to say, the stay at the lake didn't last long... the skeeters were ferocious!!  And the frogbrella in our company only smiled at them!

Atlantic Adventure

A couple of months ago, we took a day-trip to the ocean.  For something as timeless as the ocean... there sure are lots of traces of time (and other things) there.  It was a dismal day, so some of the colors aren't as vibrant as they could be;

Signs of past visitors Popup Linkprints
Signs of the Popup Linkoff-season
Signs of a long, long process Popup Linkrusty bones
Signs of inhabitants Popup LinkIsles of Shoals (13 miles away, I'll have you know...)

And some miscellaneous shots:
