Jo, as I said you inspired me to look around my kitchen and find something to photograph! Look what I found! Mousy Yes, it's a mouse! There's a mouse that lives in my kitchen. Mousy2 Her name is Mousy, and she's really gentle and loves to be held and petted. Mousy3 Isn't she cute? Mousy4 She lives with another female mouse who is rather camera shy and doesn't like to be held. But it's okay, that means more pictures for Mousy. Mousy5 Mousy6 Mousy7 And in case you wonder what she lives in, here's her house: MouseHouse So, what's in your wallet? Er..I mean, Kitchen?

These are various pictures from my roamings. The first two are interesting in that I took these pictures to try to get a close up of the dragonfly on the leaves. What I got instead was his shadow underneath him which was pretty cool looking. You should be able to see his body and his wings in the leaf below him:
My name is Moe...I am a cancer survivor. I had the worst cancer a cat could have...lymphatic cancer. I went through 2 lumpectomies, chemotherapy, and many different human medicines that I could barely keep down. My doctor had already sounded the death knell before we even got started. I showed him! After I had my lumpectomies, I had to wear baby clothes to cover my operations so I wouldn't lick the open wounds, they didn't bandage me up, they just stitched me together.
This was my first studio shot. Our studio is in our house. The subject is my friend Lester who graciously gave me permission to post these shots. The reason for the shots was to post them on a dating service for Lester. I used two lights with umbrellas and a roll of white paper. The first shot I did was the Captain Morgan pose,
More from the San Antonio Zoo. Wait until the African Exhibit opens up in a couple of weeks, hope you don't get tired of looking at Zoo pictures! :)
Here are some more pictures I took at the San Antonio Zoo. The first one was in the Butterfly Garden, a Butterfly had attached itself to this young girl and she let me take her picture.
All of these pictures are of my cat Simba except for the last one. The black cat next to him is his brother Moe. Moe has a really great story to tell and I will feature him on the next post and tell you all about it. Both cats were born in the same litter along with a third cat. They were all males. Simba is going to be tested very soon for kidney disease and if by chance he has it his other brother (Not Moe) will be the organ donor and will be donating a kidney for him. I never had children so I always tell people these are my furry children.
I went back to the San Antonio Zoo today and took some more pictures of the Snow Leopard. He is a magnificent animal. This time it wasn't a fluke shot, I just shot tons of pictures of him with a Canon EFS 75-300 lense. These are the best ones of the batch.
Ben H. Carpenter had a vision. His vision was to transform his family’s ranch, fondly named El Ranchito de Las Colinas, meaning the Little Ranch of the Hills, into a world class development. Las Colinas would be transformed from the open grassland of the past into an urbanized community for a new generation of Texans. Mr. Carpenter was determined to create within Las Colinas a grand plaza, a gathering place for future generations. In order to establish a unique identity for this urban space, a sculpture that captured the free spirit embodied in the heritage of Texas would be the centerpiece. Wild mustangs that roamed the early days of Texas would be the identifying piece for this grand gathering place. Mr. Ben Carpenter unveiled his plans in 1973 that would turn his family ranch into the world renowned master-planned community it is today. Finally, on September 25, 1984, the sculpture was in place and the plaza was open for the public to inspect and enjoy. Assembled together were the nine bronze mustangs, forming the largest equestrian sculpture in the world. The centerpiece of the plaza, the Mustangs of Las Colinas, shall be a lasting memorial to the vanguard of the civilization of Texas.
I took this picture at the San Antonio Zoo. This beautiful Leopard was behind a chain link fence and I had no idea how to shoot the picture. So I pushed the camera up against the chain link fence, took aim and fired! This is what came out, it was a total fluke! It was probably one of the best pictures I have ever taken. The chain link fence never even showed up in the picture!
I thought I would give you the whole tour in this story. To start off with I want to show you the banner they made for it, they never noticed Vettes was spelled wrong.
This is a shot I took of my cat
