Been away for a while, mostly because of a new girlfriend and being on vacation.  I've spent most of the summer watching baseball and working.  I thought I'd come by and share a few of my better shots taken throughout the summer.

Texas Rangers vs Baltimore Orioles - Taken at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington

Vin Diesel and Sammy Sosa - Taken at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas during a ceremony honoring Sammy Sosa's 600th home run

Ben Francisco of the Cleveland Indians (my baseball team).  Taken at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington

Wichita Wranglers Catcher - Taken at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, Kansas

Wichita Wranglers Pitcher - Taken at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, Kansas

Some new stuff...

A nighttime B&W exposure of my bedroom lamp! (yay)

My mug.  Kind of like my 2006 self-portrait of sorts.  I don't normally post pictures of myself, but this one is okay.

First Montage (and more Sam)

As requested, here are a few more shots of Samantha, my violin.

Samantha in the Dark 2 - front shot, 4 second exposure B*W
Samantha in the Dark 3 - back shot, 4 second exposure B*W
Samantha in the Light - front shot, 4 second exposure

Also, my first photomontage, Treshhold.  It's a combination of three photos.  A long nighttime exposure of my fireplace where I had a lot of junk sitting (coins, headphones, etc), a shot of a waterfall here in my city, and a buddy of mine standing on a streetcorner.  Manipulated in Photoshop 7.

Thanks and enjoy! (these have been resized as normal) :)

New Shots

Lately I've spent a lot of time reading and trying to improve my low-light and dark photography.  I took these practicing in my living room.  Each shot is a 6 second exposure with varied fields of depth.  Shot with Canon Digital Rebel XT.

Bike in the House - 6 second exposure during sunset.  I never leave my bike outside :)

The Jake (BW) - I have this very expensive model of Jacobs Field in Cleveland that I took a bunch of crappy photos of about a year ago.  THIS is the photo I was trying to take!  6 second exposure during sunset.

Samantha in the Dark - No, it is not an adult video.  It's my violin resting on my couch during the sunset.  6 second exposure.

Enjoy!

So I went walking down main street here in town yesterday and to my disappointment there were no people.  I was hoping to get a few candid shots, but nothing.  The only life I did manage to find were these guys.  I'm starting to realize that my photographs turn out so much better when I just point and shoot and don't really think about it.

Parking Lot Photography

Life has been a rollercoaster ride lately.  I just moved into a new apartment in a new city and have a new job.  I moved into this gigantic apartment complex, and the only scenery above the buildings is a Merril Lynch bank building.  So I decided to go outside this morning and just snap random photos of people in the parking lot.  I think most people were still asleep, because these are the only two people I seen.

I haven't been able to post any new photographs lately in part to the fact I was in Biloxi, MS going to school for a while.  Here are a few photos I took in Gulfport along the coast.

We'll start with the damage first.

Destroyed Baptist Church
Church Seats
Episcopal by the Sea

In addition to photographing some of the damaged areas, I spent some time with these guys...

Landing!
This guy is posing for me.
Flock of Seagulls
Gulls in Flight

Hope you enjoy the photos.

It's been a while since I posted some new shots.  Life's been hectic and my creative focus is elsewhere right now.  I just ordered a 300mm zoom lens and it should be here anyday now!

In the meantime, here are a few random shots from around my home.

Bamboo (BW)
Bamboo 2 (BW)
Burnout (BW)

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since I posted anything new, so here's a few random shots I took over the last few weeks.  Things have been so hectic that I barely have time to do any photography anymore.

Police Officer - He kind of looks like he's doing the hokey pokey
Yellow Flower - Makes a nice desktop wallpaper
Rosary - I'm not a religious man, but I think some rosaries are great for photographing

Enjoy,
-Wes

So I've been kind of busy lately and haven't been able to post.  These are a few shots I took in Lubbock, Texas yesterday evening.

This is a die-cast model of Jacob's Field, home of the Cleveland Indians that sits on my computer desk.  This was one of the hardest things I've ever tried to photograph, and I still don't think it turned out too well.

Mooned Again

Tonight is the night of the Harvest Moon.  Traditionally farmers used the light from the "Harvest" moon to work through the night harvesting their crops before the fall and winter seasons arrived.   This photo was taken with my Orion Telescope and my Digital Rebel XT.  It was a little more difficult to take than my other moon shot because it was so bright and was actually hurting my eyes to look at.
