BiographyI live with my wife in a small town in eastern Kentucky. We love to travel and take pictures of everything along our way. There is so much in this world to see and our pictures help us remember so much that we otherwise would have forgotten.
I've always enjoyed taking and experimenting with pictures. Way back in high school my first camera was a 110 film camera. I can remember putting plastic wrap over the lens and poking a small hole in the middle to get the 'blurred background' look. It wasn't much, but it worked surprisingly well.
Fortunately, I’ve advanced a little since those days. I’ve taken a lot of photographs since then, but I still enjoy looking at those old 110 film pictures and taking a journey back through time. So many people and things still exist in those photos that have long gone from our world today.
Artist's StatementI search for beauty in everything. Beauty in people might be someone's expression, their actions, or the lines in their face. You don't have to be pretty to be beautiful. Beauty in objects can be in their function, their shape, or their history. I try to capture the beauty I see, cherish it, and help others see it for themselves.
Camera EquipmentI began with a Canon Powershot A70, then upgraded to a Canon S2IS. The S2IS took many many great photos and really honed my eye and skill. I finally decided to take it to the next level and purchased the Canon 7D. I passed the S2IS along to my wife. .
