Took my camera with me to work and went on a little walk during lunch.  The spring birds returned to the ponds.  I was told that this is a red winged blackbird, who can disagree with the name?

Unseasonally warm fall day gave this squirrel an extra day go gather food for the winter (it also gave an a nice excuse to take a walk and try out my new Nikon D80.)

Went to see the Texas wildflowers last weekend (I know Miztli beat me to the story) and saw some  strangers and even strangers with  a dog.

However, to keep the flowers wild and beautiful, certain rules have to be followed. It is sad that despite the large warning signs, some on the other side  of the fence just don't listen.

I learned in geometry class that shells  and sunflowers follow the Fibonacci sequence... and therefore follow the golden ratio.... could someone explain it to me?

How long until Winter gives way to Summer.  

So I scroll through my old pictures. here is a rock  and a tree  from Enchanted Rock last summer.

I had to look twice to figure out why I had put a ray traced image in my photo album. Turns out, we took this indoor  roller coaster last weekend, but with the geometry and colors(slightly adjusted for the sky) it looked computer generated.

Went to Mojo's (one of the greatest coffee shops in the world) and was able to listen to a moving performance by a SWSX artist Melissa Mullins.

Times like this I wonder why I ever left Austin...

Went to the University of Texas the other day and dropped by the Ransom Center.  This is where they keep a copy of the Gutenberg Bible as well as the first photograph.

I liked the exterior glass etches. Currently they have the Ansel Adams display.

I can't believe that in all the years that I was a student at UT I only went to that building once.
