Ft Mac Last Whoo Ya!

I have a lot of pictures so I'll keep this short. I shot in B&W most of the day because I had my contacts in and I couldn't see the screen to change it. All of my friends were no help...I think it worked out ok... Indians weren't the only one who wore feathers... There were the Poles.   Russian and German...  And Spain   The land down under...  And Japan  The blue... And the gray...  Harsh reality of war...  He ran from the other bunker...

All in all, it was a lovely weekend of mayhem!

Ft Mac Arthur: What A Weekend!

By andreaeagle written 7/25/08 3:06 PM, published 7/25/08 3:13 PM

We couldn't have had better weather for our Moment in Time: History of Battle. Here are a few of my favorite images...I have many more... BOOM! That was so loud! I couldn't cover my ears and shoot! Curiosity can be dangerous...or wonderful it depends on your heart...  We welcome all, you should see some of the re-enacters when they come into our 20' tipi with wide eyes... They sell everything... A picture was all I needed...

Let me preface the next shots by telling you they were re-enacting the battle of Iwo Jima. They do use blanks, but they still fire a paper cartridge and they can hurt or kill you...So I would have helped the angry guy beat up the other guy if it came to that.  At the time, using my 300mm it was a great photo...A gun went shot went right by his head...he was angry...  But after he chased the guy with a machete...he was spent...

The Challenge; An Atempt

By andreaeagle written 7/7/08 6:39 PM, published 7/7/08 6:41 PM

Going thru some of my pictures I came across some texture  A new low in living brought to you by Hollywood, right SG...  as I looked further I found this I think this qualifies as a pattern... so I kept on looking and then low and behold The only thing I think doesn't qualify for is texture... and still I kept looking till I found Giraffe baby butt shot, curls and all... Texture, pattern...I don't know about depth...you can go there...I'm not...

A little levity

 Keep it up...

L.A. Zoo Not the Usual Suspects...

By andreaeagle written 6/25/08 6:33 PM, published 6/25/08 6:33 PM

It was a little bit less like walking on the sun (last week) out there...so I got up early and went to the zoo...Even early I could tell it wasn't going to be easy to find any one moving! But I since I was there...

Evelyn and Rapunzel girl time...

 Just blowin' smoke... Prong horn...

 Jabari just kickin it...

The fossa was bad this week. He caught a skunk and dragged into he's cage to eat. Needless to say, this put him on the short list of bad actors.

The bad boy...

This Micro Markor was a total surprise coming almost a month after his siblings...and there are only 2 females! And 3 baby Markor...

Micro Markor...

Sweet sap sipper...

Short Joke Do you mind?!!!!

By andreaeagle written 6/13/08 12:06 AM, published 6/13/08 12:06 AM

I took these a while ago, when the site was going thru growing pains...

I'm so excited! This is the first picture of one of African Wild Dogs...

Hot diggitty dog!

Glenda loves to sleep lately on Rapunzal...

She must have had a hard night

Hasani is older bro to Jabari. As Glenda grows they will be mates for her...

Hasani and Jabari are the members of our bachelor group...

You have to totally silent in front of their area, any noise and they hide...

These are Maned Wolves...they're more closely related to foxes...

No Joke

Our state flower- SoCal style

Branche is so...

Excited...

I thought his head was going to explode...He was licking and love biting her...constantly...

I haven't found out her name yet ...

But I'm calling her Beauty for now...

Beauty just seems to have...

An inner peace about her...

It's been a looonnnggg day...

After all that a snooze was all she wanted...another sleeping beauty...

For my birthday weekend we went, as usual, to the Hesperia Pow Wow. Posting pictures was a challenge...many wouldn't load at all...other's are out of order...oh well!

They had some new buildings that I'm not sure what they're going to be used for, but I'm pretty sure it will be Indian themed...

MMM...I love the smell of fresh sage in the morning

Float away with me...

Some great new buildings...

Our friend Carl...

One of the Azteca dancer

Swinging to beat of the drum...

And this is one of the reasons we came...the other one was was deep fried...

By andreaeagle written 4/30/08 2:03 PM, published 5/1/08 7:00 PM

Well not really...I haven't been feeling
well, so I haven't post or been on the site much recently.
I had the honor of sitting next to our Silverback Lowland Gorilla, Kelly,  separated by smudgie glass, and I made eye contact with him briefly as he watched his 2 yr old daughter Glenda...It was such a thrill...
Eighteen inches from a silverback  gorilla...
Evolution...

Seti shows off his new teeth...
I love the expression on Lulu face... that's right...tire yourselves out...
Tigers in training...

And Lionel with a tempting offer...
Rub my tummy...
Please...
On second thought...

The weather was perfect for a day at the zoo and all the animals were taking advantage of it...

The divas primping up...
the Zebra were taking dust baths...
Over at the tiger's it was business as usual...
Boys and their toys
Denny at 10 mos old. He's quite handsome...
But I did catch a few moments of bliss...
A quiet moment between Lulu and Seti...
Walking together...

I did actually take animal pictures when I was at the zoo, they were all off doing spring kinds of thing; if I wanted to I could take pictures...

Our male zebra's finally growing larger than the the females, next breeding cycle maybe babies!
He was much younger than I had originally thought (1yr or little less). Well it turn out he was about 6-7 mon when they intro'd him to his three ladys
