It was a beautiful weekend here in the Bay Area and we took our 10 week old out for a nice long walk.  Found some good fodder for the current fences and walls theme.

Knot hole found in an old, decaying fence.

Looking into the  tennis court.

Came across this spectacular wall of flowers.

Warm sunshine in NoCal on Wednesday, cold rain on Friday. When is spring going to make its heroic stand???

Another homage to Flowergraphica: purple

Not just bolts, chains keep that bridge up over San Francisquito Creek.

God, I have been busy lately. Unfortunately it had nothing to do with snapping photos or lurking on this site. I was able to get away for an hour today to look for shadow opps. Spring has been teasing us relentlessly this year. Luckily today was one of those days! Took a walk over the bike bridge to Stanford. Noticed that these bolts were keeping me from becoming a wet mess in San Fransquito Creek.

Spring is here (again)!

After a wet week here in NoCal, spring has made another comeback. Hopefully for good. For the color theme I could think of no better subject than Flowergraphica!

The white jasmine is in full bloom, filling the air with its sweet fragrance. The pink buds add a nice dimension to the spectacle. Ahhhhh, can't you just smell it?

The green Japanese maple provides a lush cover in our garden.

(A little late for the B&W contest, but this subject is best in monochrome.)

Lazy Sunday afternoon. Rain outside. Jazz on the stereo. Time for a fix...

My contribution to Flowergraphica... OK OK, I couldn't resist.

Japanese maple making a spring comeback in the Bay Area.

Little Flowers, don't know what they're called but they are nice.

The drama of spring

This is my first foray into digital imaging, much less photography. After having used a Canon P&S all these years, I decided to take the plunge into the SLR world primarily because I have always have had a hankering for expressing my artistic side. So I went for it with my first digital SLR: the Canon 20D.

So here is my First ever snapshot I took the day I took possession of my new camera. Well, it's a start anyway.

Here's our cat Gene.

But my real Muse is our new baby daughter.

I have a long way to go but I know it will be a fun journey, especially with the guidance of you guys.
