    Cathy Powell was born in the outskirts of Los Angeles but spent the bulk of her childhood growing up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas.

    She still lives in the area and continues to visit these special places.

    The vast scenery of the desert and the scent of sage have a way of immersing her in the past while grounding her in the present.

    She specializes in landscapes and macro photography. She is also available for portraits and weddings.
