A slight clarification: While Popup Linkthis view was presented in the previous story, this is actually the Popup Linkreal shot. As can be comprehended, i shot a little puddle that reflected the lights of the monument.

And for some additional photos of Rome and Venice: Popup LinkThe same monument shot at day time, Popup Linksome statues and Popup Linka little alley in venice leading to the light...

Night shots at Vittorio emanuel

By cookielida written 2/2/05 12:15 AM, published 2/2/05 12:15 AM

One night in Rome I took my tripod and toured several attractions sites, hoping to get a grip of the night scenes of Romans... ;) I wasn't so lucky on the night scene, but the monuments and statues were still there at night. Popup LinkVittorio emanuel is one such monument, with statues and nice fountains. This is another Popup Linkview of this monument...

More on Rome will be posted shortly...

Early in Venice

By cookielida written 2/1/05 8:12 AM, published 2/1/05 8:12 AM
In Augost 2002 I toured Italy, especially in Rome, Florence and Venice. I got to Venice at 6 am with the night train from Rome (an experience of it's own, believe me!) and headed toward San-Marco piazza. On my way, i happen to stumble into an interesting event: an Popup Linkold lady walking very slowly, throwing bread crumbs everywhere and a flock of pigeons flying all around her in total berzerk! This was happening several hours before the rush of tourists through the winding alleys of Venice and the quiet of this beatifull city was broken by the sound of flapping wings and the old lady footsteps...

Only one photo here, but it tells all what other scenery pictuers couldn't have! Yep, as can be seen Popup Linkhere, this guys are good friends! :) we were and a day trip and suddenly we entered a little clearing, and everybody was looking around. So i suggested a group shot. As they stood there, they turned around, grinned and the rest is history..

A short day tour in Tel-Aviv

By cookielida written 1/28/05 5:13 AM, published 1/28/05 5:13 AM

My tour in Tel-Aviv started at 4 a.m. (!) near Tel-Baruch beach in an Popup Linkold transformation station. It was extremely cold! I have continued south to center Tel-Aviv, where i visited the campus of the famous theatre Mishkan Omanuyot Habima, where i took the picture of Popup Linka cone which is hang at the entrance to this campus. I took this shot directly underneath it (i won't say i wasn't abit afraid .. ;) ).

Later i visited the old section of Jaffa and took a shot of Popup Linka mosque watching the sea shore of Tel-Aviv. i was also extremely lucky to catch this Popup Linkromantic couple right before they left to the sea shore.Popup LinkThe sun has already started its descent into to sea in an amazing flaming color..till next time!
