Garden discoveries

By deedee1214 written 9/2/06 3:31 PM, published 9/2/06 3:31 PM

I love to photograph nature in my garden or elsewhere.  I think I love the flowers more so because where I grew up, not much would grow.  I am still excited by the Popup Linkhydrangeain my front yard that goes crazy every year.  My future mother-in-law drops by to plant something once in a while.  Here is one of her gifts that she planted as a very small cutting. Popup Linkwallflowers I showed you before how I have a "pet" spider who eats all the wasps and bees he can catch.  Now he is just  Popup Linkhamming it up for the camera.  He knows I like to shoot his photo.  We also have some very vivid canasPopup Linksky flowers and the strangest thing happened last week.  Three adult parrots (wild) flew on to our power lines for a visit.  They were amazing, but too far for great shots.  Just thought I would include them because of the oddity of having wildPopup Linkparrots  show up in the yard. The far left one is even hanging upside down.

Avocado fan

This doesnt really belong with anything else I have, but I really love the image of this abandoned Avocado fan.  They used to be used to keep air flowing through avocado fields.  I just think its really interesting with its color against the sky, and all its rust.Popup LinkAvo

This is Spidey, He is inviting you to come into my garden where there are always beautiful colors of fragrant spring Popup LinkspidergreenHe is a Green Lynx Spider.  They grow to be about the size of the end of your pinkey.  Where most spiders are not welcome, he is my friend.  His choice meal is the Wasps and Bees that try to keep me at bay when I want to smell the flowers.  Some of his favorite places to hide are the beautiful Canas.  They come in many colors but his favorites are the Yellow Popup Linkyellow and the pink Popup LinkCanaP He lurks there, and with amazing speed jumps out and grasps onto prey his own size or a bit smaller.  He is not the least harmful to humans and will jump away from you.  He also favors these beautiful white flowers.
