I've been experimenting with lighting. This is a combination between natural and incandescent lighting.
Let me know what you think... any suggestions. I tried to capture the contours and details of the carving to give it more depth.
Thanks,
Don

I've been on the road so much, haven't had too much opportunity to take pictures.
Here is one close to home from last week.
It's amazing how dry its been here lately, even the evergreens have taken on a fall color.

I Just returned from a week at the beach. Thought I would share from the plethera of images that center me into a tranquil state and help me relax. I hope they do the same for you! Enjoy. Sorry... there are no trees in these.
Now go relax and enjoy the rest of the summer!

Amazing view #1 Bridge Rail 01
even more amazing view #2 Bridge Rail 02
I drove past here yesterday. It's the New River Gorge Bridge near Fayetteville, West Virginia famous for it's "Bridge Day" in Mid October. On that day they close the bridge to traffic and allow base jumpers to leap off. (not me)
Enjoy the View!

Hi Guys!
Haven't posted in a while, been traveling.
Recently I took some time out to go fly fishing along a stretch of Penns Creek not far from State College PA. I took my camera of course and caught a few shots of the wildlife in and out of the water. Enjoy.
I caught my own version of flying rods... fishingrods?
Every year I see one of these... snakengrass That's about as often as I need to see them.
We've been experiencing a deluge of these Cicadas morphthis01
And last, it was so noisy creek side because of the multitude of frogs this year, and they were just multiplying all over the place as you can see here... stringotadpoles
Caught some fish as well... but nothing to brag about, hence no pics. Besides... as high as the creek was this year, I didn't want to accidentally submerge my Rebel XT.

Last night was my son's production of "Footloose". It was the best play the school has put on in the last five years! I tried to capture the movements using 1600 ISO and a shutter speed of 160. If you have any other hints for trying to shoot the stage with dim lighting, let me know. (No flash pics allowed.) We have two more nights of production.

Sometimes, just to mix things up I take the back roads instead of the interstate when driving between jobsites. That's when the opportunities start popping up. I hope you enjoy these. I don't know the background on the mill. I took two shots of the dam and photostitched them together. I really hadn't planned on the stitch, otherwise I would have kept the same line of shooting in order to combine the mill. Other than that they were posted without editing. All were shot with 1/60 handheld, 28 FL at 100 ISO on a HD Wide Angle lens.
