Last month I went to my sister-in-laws wedding in Seattle.

We only had a day to see the city (read "play tourist") so I didn't get to do all that I intended.

I did, however get to see I did, however get to see the Seattle Space Needle, and got to visit the world famous City Market.  There was fresh berries, fresh fish, and some apples.

Overall, a good trip.

As you have seen earlier, Popup LinkPyro43 and I spent the morning taking a few pix around town.

Here are some of the ones that I captured:

Popup Linkmy version of the footbridge
Popup LinkLooking up at the Old Mill
Popup Linksign for Don (and there is no PhotoShop used to make this sign - this is actually what it said)
Popup Linka weed growing from a stone wall

I saw this one and thought I would keep it for when I have Popup Link"one of those days".

Could use some help

Hi, I am the web designer (and newsletter editor) for a photo club in Milwaukee.

I was wondering if I could get some feedback from y'all on how the new site design looks and works.

The address for what is up now is:
http://www.uecpc.org
and the new design is:
http://www.uecpc.org/new

I would appreciate, especially, some input on the gallery section.

Be as brutal as you think you need to be, I really would like an impartial opinion - the club thinks it is great, but they have to agree (or I take my computer and go home :-)  o.k., not really, but they don't want to say anything bad for fear of hurting my feelings)

Thanks in advance for all your thoughts.

David

From the Morgue - Still Life

Not THE morgue - but the archives.

I know it has been a while since I have been here.  Things in my life are still a wreck, but I promise, I will keep coming back.

First off, I would like to start out with Popup Linka fork.  As in "stick a fork in me, I'm done", which is about how I feel about a great many things today.

On a more positive note, I thought it time to shoot my kitties.  Popup LinkCrystal is one of my favorite sets, but Popup Linkthis one is a close second.  I did both of these in my "studio" (read "coffee table with backdrops of old fabric, next to the window"), on a fairly sunny day.  I am not sure I like the way it looks, but what can you do?  So let me know, how could they be improved.

Carpe Lux,
David

Critique of web site, please

Hello all.  If you have time, I would appreciate it if you could take a moment and give me your honest thoughts about a web site.  Urban Ecology Center Photo Club

I am a member of this club and created the site design and many of the graphics.  I am just wondering what others think of it.  The club is happy (or they aren't saying what they don't like) and I guess that is most important.

Any way, Thanks for your time.

One of my son's Popup Linkfavourite toys.  They never last as long as he would like, but he enjoys them all the same.

I was cleaning out the basement and found some Popup Linkold flowers that have been left out to dry.  I liked the way they looked and got the shot.  Then they fell apart.

O.K.  I am trying to upload an image to use as an avatar for my posts.  When I go to add the image (which fits the size requirements) I get a warning that I must enter my password to make any changes.

I am logged in, and when I did it again, I entered my password, twice, down at the bottom, still I get the same message.

Any clue as to what I am doing wrong?

Since I couldn't do anything else yesterday, I went out into the back yard and found a couple of interesting shots (and made one).

This Popup Linkbug decided to pop out of its skin on a lily leaf.

Then it was Popup Linklunch time for this one.

I found a piece of driftwood at the beach and arranged a Popup Linkpurple flower on it.

I hope you like the shots.

My version of the Theme . . .

So, I finally got my stuff together and decided that I would "play" with the bi-weekly theme.  But what to do. . . Hey! lets to to the florist!  (I got a little creative and put "frames" around a couple. . . then I got lazy and didn't do it for the rest.)

First, I give you a very close up of a Popup LinkProtea.  Very pretty little flower.

Next up is a Popup LinkStar Gazer Lily, one of my favorites.

Third, is the state flower of Popup LinkIndiana.

Fourth is a very delicate flower called a Popup LinkParchment Poppy.  Pure white, except for the middle.

And lastly, is a Popup LinkPom Pom Mum that is in the process of getting new flower pedals.

I hope you enjoy my trip to the florist.  I did!

A Day at the Beach

On Wednesday, I took my Popup Linkson to the beach of Lake Michigan.  He found all kinds of things to look at, like a piece of Popup Linkdriftwood and a large bed of colorfull Popup Linkpebbles.  Daddy took some time to find some Popup Linkbeach grass to shoot.

Well, there you have it. . . a Day at the Beach!

Enjoy
