another challedge reponse

By fatcatxcon written 10/6/08 1:14 PM, published 10/6/08 1:16 PM

Guys, I'm thinking about pulling some of my older stories...whatcha' think?? Anyway this little digicam I have now is really producing some decent shots and some of my older stories are just messy. I'd like to save them to my files but that's not possible, huh??

So here's some street and road shots for your opinion. First, here's a couple shots that seem typical at first glance, but the archs really do get smaller DSCI0022  DSCI0028

Here's another orphan kicked to the curb DSCI0006

These are Stanley Marsh signs, the first being on his ranch, Toad Hill. DSCI0016    DSCI0002

Could anything be more discouraging than having... DSCI0003 ???

Finally for the weary traveler DSCI0012

So, there's yet another story posted from my corner of your world! Enjoy!

this one's for ashton

OK, I reveiwed your suggestions and acted on all of them (I think). I used MS Photo Manager to fix these shots...though I don't know how to straighten them.

I used "Auto Correct" and the crop function on this one(plus it was overcast) jdawgs_pictures_006 and this one the ground was acturlly flat in this one western_st_2_cropped .

Hey, look no butts in this version an_orphan_cropped

I cropped the wall out of this shot. I sat the camera on a wall and used the telephoto function on the camera. I also used "Auto Correct" on this shot maxxor_bull_cropped .

I simply cropped this one a bit chase_bldg .

So, how's my editing guys?

OK, I found out that the college computers have a photo editor installed. I used it a little on this story. I'm not real clear on the challenge but hopefully most of these shots fit the theme...here we go!

These two shots should fit easily...looking_toward_washi  actx_at_24th_street

Well, some of these shots have date stamps...sorry, had the wrong mode set on the camera. I'm on a public machine so I don't have edit ability otherwise I'd crop the date stamp out. Anyway...

So are these taken in the city of Amarillo, TX or out in the country somewhere? You guess I'll tell later. jdawgs_pictures_006  jdawgs_pictures_004  jdawgs_pictures_003  jdawgs_pictures_002

Here's an orphan jdawgs_pictures_009

Then there's statues of all kinds fallfest08_001  fallfest08_003

So there's my post...hope you enjoy them

OK the last time I posted I was in Michigan. I'm back in Amarillo, TX. Polaroid discontinured this model (or Walgreens just dropped it). Anyway, I got it for $70. It's 7meg with a 12x optical zoom. Maybe I can post some decent pictures. Here's some for your review...

Snag-It + Google Street View=This Post

By fatcatxcon written 5/16/08 4:48 PM, published 5/16/08 5:11 PM

Google is bringing a new technology to their maps; they call it "Street View". Well, I used a piece of software(Snag-It) to capture pictures from Google Maps with the "Street View" layer activated.

Here's a coal train

A street in Chicago at the loop

Now, this is kinda cool but kinda creepy as well...check it, you house could be on Google Maps soon...Anyway, since I didn't need any talent to make this work your comments will be interesting... ("at the loop" is mislabeled, sorry guys...Oh I like the changes to the site...cool...peace...

Help!

By fatcatxcon written 3/14/07 10:26 AM, published 3/14/07 10:26 AM

OK, I have no clue how to focus using a LCD. Is it the camera (basically a 'point-n-shoot). I took some pictures of a rock garden and thought the focus was on target...this was the result,
rock garden
I already know how surferguy feels about my efforts, and I'm sure a lot of of folks feel the same way. All you haters go take gorgeous pictures...all others; do I need to go away until I find a REAL camera? What price as base...this one cost $60; IF the camera(or its viewfinder) is at fault...how low is to low? Honestly, maybe I need to fade away.

Here We Go Again!!!

Guys, I'm real new to this digital editing stuff. So I have been doing some editing. This first set was taken with a cell phone...which I've posted before. Here I will only post the edited photos...I think the b&w effect really helped these shots.
