Here are some shots I took of Maui during our trip there last year. I'm not sure that these are the best, but out of 428 I took, here is a sampling. I've been trying to look at my pictures that I took a while ago in the context of the Rule of Thirds and I can see how they would have been improved had I taken them with that in mind. Any other suggestions are appreciated!

Light vs. Dark
I was inspired by Fabulos to post some of my pics of San Francisco taken from Treasure Island. They're not quite as cool as the ones Fabulos has of Seattle (nor are they as sharp), but it was my first shot at night time photography and it was fun! So, to continue the city at night theme...here are a couple of the city by the bay. We took them in February not too long before we moved back to our home state of Washington.
Warm wash
More blues
Eucalyptustree in the front. It smelled so good when I was taking these pics.
Night time sepia
Hope you all had a good weekend! So I happened to see the other night that the new challenge is seeing double. While out in the city I picked up a couple shots that tied somewhat to that theme.
I was in Chicago visiting my sister where I picked up a shot of the
bean and also a couple
landmark buildings. Those buildings were very interesting to me because they're somehow simultaneously futuristic looking and retro.
Back in Seattle, I caught a shot of our
tunnel lights on the freeway. No easy task considering our freeways aren't exactly smooth and that car wasn't exactly going slow.
And in our apartment the next morning,
Zoe our cat had a little run in with the
next door neighbor's cat. The
results weren't pretty.
Thanks in advance for the feedback! Looking forward to another fun day here on Photographica.
Hey folks. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the DOF tips in my first post! I'll definitely strive to apply that newfound knowledge in my future photographs despite my technical limitations (read: I wish I had a better camera...heehee). Anyway, here are a few more from my library that I would love to get some feedback on! Some of them could be considered an entry to the textures contest...I'll let you decide which ones. Man, I love this site!

Hey everyone. I've never posted here before, but I just recently stumbled across the site and thought I'd try my hand at posting! Hopefully, I do it right. Tips are always appreciated. I have a pic that I just took the other evening that I thought might be appropriate for this week's challenge. It's a little out of focus...but I'm considering this sort of a "testing-the-waters" post.
