Rosewell Plantation was built c1750, survived the Civil War, but was gutted by fire 1910. The original structure had 17 fireplaces, the ruins are immense. Here is my father in law, r.s., oldgrinder in the cabin NC sunrise  These are taken in what used to be a very self sufficient tobacco and cotton farming community. My father in law built all his out buildings, made beautiful baskets, kept 1000 chickens, cows and pigs, farmed 250 acres..was a philosopher,business man, farrier,deacon, husband and father. Whew and I grumble having to put in my 40 hrs.
