I agree that McDonald's food is not the most appetizing looking fare, however, these are the shots I chose to hand in for my food assignment. We had to take a wide establishing shot, a mid shot, and a close up shot. I had fun taking them.
So the other part of my current assignment in Fundamentals of Photography is a wildlife shot and a landscape shot. This is the shot I have chosen for landscape. I really like the pastel-y look of the photo. Kind of serene. For my wildlife shot. It's a toss-up between photo 1 and photo 2. I think I have a favorite already, but which one do you think is better?
Here is a photo I took of "Eartha" at the map company DeLorme located in Yarmouth, Maine. I took this for part of a class assignment. We have to take a photo of a landscape, of wildlife, and of architecture. This fulfills the architecture requirement. What do you think?
I used my new flash today for the first time (Nikon Autofocus Speedlight SB-800). I don't really know HOW to use it, so I just played around. I set it to auto and just adjusted the angle. I can't even begin to express my surprise as to how different my photos turned out using that flash vs. the on-camera flash. So, here are a few pictures that I took today at my sister-in-law's baby shower of my nieces.
I'm quite proud of this photo . . . taken with my brand new Nikon D200 for a Fundamentals of Photography class assignment. I'm quite proud of this photo . . . taken with my brand new Nikon D200 for a Fundamentals of Photography class assignment.
This is my first post in FOREVER! I can't remember the last story I posted. I think it was December of '05 the last time I posted anything. So much has happened since then. I have recently started photography school (yippee!), which has been a dream of mine for SO many years! It's finally happening. AND I recently got a brand new DigiSLR! My very first one ever . . . a Nikon D200. So, I have been playing around a little bit. So here is a photo I took today. I turned it black and white and incresed the contrast a bit for some effect. I love my new camera and I am truly glad to be back.

Well, they say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Well . . . this little soul is an angel!
I took these at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. You are allowed to take pics but with no flash . . . so does this fit into the current assignment?
These are my favorite pieces of artwork at at the Museum. Their names are
La Rieuse aux Roses, 1873 and
Le Printemps, 1874. It is believed that they are both the same girl. These are scans . . . so the quality is not the best. I have also made them sepia. The artist is a French sculptor named Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux.

I also like photographing sections of larger works. This is a section of John Singer Sargeant's
The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit, 1882. And here is the
second one.
My husband is a wrestler, so this is his favorite painting at the MFA--
The Wrestlers by George Benjamin Luks.
And last but not least . . . a section of my favorite painting of all time . . . Renior's
Dance at Bougival, 1883.
Boston now has a beautiful and chilling Holocaust Memorial. It is somber and thought provoking. As you can tell from the pictures these monuments are made of all glass and printed on them are individual numbers of Jewish people who went through the Holocaust. They are several stories high . . . so many numbers.May we never forget.
