I asked my husband to take me with him when he went to work today, so i could walk around and take pictures. One of the places he went was to Bluffton, a smaller town about 1/2 hour from Fort Wayne. I had him drop me south of downtown, and i walked back to meet him. There are a lot of older, victorian style homes along main street. Here are a few:

1.

2.

3.

4.

They have a river greenway where people can walk along the river and hear concerts, go thru parks, etc. along the bank off main street, they had this massive home and the bank bricked nicely.

Then came back downtown Fort Wayne, which has MANY fascinating architectrial beauties. here are two:

The Kwanis Club

A Funeral Parlor

The new Library (with one of the largest genelogical sections in the country). The construction beyond the library is the new baseball diamond/condos/hotel they are putting in downtown.

Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

so you've had a bad day....daniel powter

Saturday, was a day of defining disfunction...early afternoon, my brother who has been trying to get all 6 of us kids together, (we live as far north as E.Jordan, MI, and as far south as Jacksonville, FL)  we noticed out of the 6 of us, all who are over 40, him and i are the only ones who don't blame our adult lives on the percevied disfunction of our childhood.  maybe bcs we hoth have stepkids who's lives were much more disfunctional than ours.

Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around

You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride

You had a bad day
The camera don't lie

You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Will you need a blue sky holiday?
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on

At the park, 3 teenagers were sitting on the bench, and the 2 girls asked to pet the dogs.  the boy, about 15,16, spit at the dogs, and then kicked spotty.  i realized then, he was learning disabled.  his foster sister jumped up and hit him in the head and explained he was autistic and had just recently picked up the bad habit of spitting.  she said she suffered from OCD and i noticed the other girl, angel, was very reserved.  they apparently lived in a foster home nearby.

(Oooh.. a holiday..)

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that
strong
And I'm not wrong

Then a mother and daughter came up, she said she raised papillions, and her and her daughter petted spotty and roy for a while, and after they walked away, i noticed the girl (about 8) singing with a speech impediment.  but they were very happy.

I just don't get my siblings....

I have my eye on you....

By lefteyeblind written 5/5/08 10:35 AM, published 5/28/08 8:50 AM

no, really EYE do...

look down at the eye chart,  and tell me, which is better, one or two?  Now cover your right eye and read the smallest line you can see.

wanta drive?  wear these binocular like lens over your glasses and take 30 hours of bioptic driving classes.  If you pass, you'll be on the road!  (which is scarier, me or my 16 yr old behind the wheel?)

want to curl up to read a good book with this on your lap?  me neither, so they are going to try and get me a handheld model.

It's in the government's hand now, I may be back in the workforce and on the road by next fall!

been so busy spring cleaning, (that's a GOOD thing!) haven't really taken many pics.  walked next door to my mom's and saw this
little guy reaching_out.  Josiah thinks its just awful to destroy dandilions, 'cause they are such a pretty color.
then, of course, there is my latest favorite subject to photo:
