Enjoy the Little Things

This is just a reminder to stop and take time to enjoy the little things in life.  In our busy world it's easy to get caught up in work, forgeting about what's really important.  Take time to eat your favorite Popup Linkcandy bar, play with your Popup Linkpet, look around you for beautiful  Popup Linklandscapes, and don't forget to enjoy the gift of  Popup Linkmusic!

My Friend

By mochagirl written 9/13/06 5:00 PM, published 9/13/06 5:00 PM

I was thinking about what gives me the most happyness in life, and aside from my faith, it has to be my family.  So, why am I not posting a picture of them?  My sister has threatened to take me to court if I put a picture of her on-line.  Little sisters, I tell ya!  (She was joking, of course, but I don't want to find out what she would do to me if I put a picture up.)  So, after ruling out that idea, I know that my dog gives me the greatest joy in life, like many of you.  He is always my friend, he doesn't hold grudges, doesn't tell secrets, and always loves me.  He's got a great personality and is loves people very much.  So, here's Popup LinkMocha

Pain And Suffering, A Little Late

By mochagirl written 8/19/06 7:46 PM, published 8/19/06 7:46 PM

I'm sure everybody's heard of Friday the 13th being an unlucky day.  Well, I don't believe in superstitions, but January, Friday the 13, 2006 was a very unlucky day for me.
That night my G.E.M.S. club was having an all-nighter.  We went to the local bowling alley to do crazy bowling and dance a little.  When they played the Cha-Cha-Slide everybody started dancing.  Then, the 'instructor' on the song said to "hop three times"  so, I did b/c that was the dance.  Well, I didn't make it to the third hop.  When I was coming down from my first jump I fell and could not get up.  I felt the most terrible pain in my knee and hip.  I couldn't even move off of the bowling lane floor.  After two nurses that were there had done all they could, we called an ambulance.  I was taken to the hospital about an hour after I fell.  Everybody thought I dislocated my knee cap.  Everybody was wrong!  After many x-rays we found out that I was born with deformed kneecaps and that I had broken my left knee cap.... OUCH!  I had emergency surgery the next morning.  I'm still recovering.  I was in a wheel chair for about 8 weeks and on crutches for about 6.  I'm now wearing an electric bone growth stimulator to try and help my bone grow faster, because it was growing to slow.  I really feel for everyone with knee problems.  I'm only a teenager and I already have them.  Now I'm at increased risk for dislocating my knee caps and most likely will have very bad arthritis in them when I am older, Oh Joy!  So, here are my pictures for pain and suffering.  WARNING, THEY ARE NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE EASILY GROSSED OUT.
