J&J's Wedding

By monikascholze written 9/3/06 2:05 PM, published 9/3/06 2:05 PM
I started working in Ireland in March 2003 at the Baltimore Harbour Hotel, and have been there ever since.
The first year we had a young girl by the name of Jenny working in the bar, with whom I went on like 'a house on fire' - as she called it!
On the end of the year she fall in love with Jo and fall pregnant and I was the first to know. She did not want to get married before she could affort a nice wedding, which she had at our hotel in July 2006.
She always called me her second mother and incisted that I MUST be all day at her wedding.
Here comes Popup Linkthe bride. Her flowerbouquet and the decoration in the Church were  Popup LinkOrchids. She looked so happy after she Popup Linksigned the register. The  Popup Link Vintage Car was supplied by a regular custmer of ours.
At the hotel some  Popup LinkFamily-Photos were taken and also one of  Popup Linkme and the couple.
They had a lovely
Popup LinkWedding-Cake and Dominique was glad his parents are finally Popup LinkONE happy family.
They opened the    Popup LinkDance for all to join and the band was fantastic. We all had a lot of fun Popup LinkDancing...
Good luck and God's blessing to the couple and Dominique for their  future...
With all my love...

Miniture-town in Clonakilty

By monikascholze written 9/1/06 2:29 PM, published 9/1/06 2:29 PM

On the begin of this year two colleges of mine and I went to Clonakilty (Ireland) to visit the Miniland. I was there before and back then I toke a trip on the Popup LinkMini-train, but this time all we had time for is taking a picture of Zuzana and me in front of the train.  Marek posed with the Popup LinkTrain_conductor. This beautifull model of a  Popup Linklight-tower we found inside the park. There was a model of Popup LinkFord Charles from Kinsale.
Marek toke this picture as a Popup LinkMemory for me. A model was there from the  Popup LinkChurch in Clonakilty.
Later we visited the original  Popup LinkChurch and we passed by the Popup LinkWishing-Well in town.
It was a fine day and with lovely company.

Potpory of pictures...

Glad I 'm back on the net. First you people had trouble and than myself. I want to start sharing with you some more pictures I could not download right previously, like the Popup LinkChurch in Baltimore and the  Popup LinkWaterfront in the Harbor.
One day I captured this Popup Linkrainbow starting at the one side over our hotel Popup Linkending on the other.
The next story is rather sad, because those Popup Linkchurch-windows are history. They fell victim to arson on the begin of this year and so did the rest of  Popup LinkRestaurant. I loved sitting on top and I loved this painting of  Popup Linkthe lovers. Luckely nobody got hurt in this fire.
I love to share this piture of a typical Popup LinkIrsh Cottagewith you. Is it not adorable?
And lastly here is the picture of the Popup LinkEuro-Flag flower-bed, I finnaly downloaded right. Ufffff...
Thats it for today folks...

My new home...

By monikascholze written 8/28/06 3:35 AM, published 8/28/06 3:35 AM

I was born in Germany and immigrated in 1975 to South-Afrca with my family. Since 2003 I work in Ireland and ave decided to retire here. Nence I would like to show you my new home before I take you on more of my holidays. I live on the most southern-tip of Ireland and work at the Popup LinkBaltimore HH. The hotel has a  Popup LinkLeasure Centre which is free for guest and staff and I love the  jaccusi in there. The
Popup Linkview from Hotel onto the sea is breathtaking, even more so from the 3rd floor. The surrounding Popup Linkwaters and cliffs are worth while visting and our most famous landmark is the  Popup LinkBeacon; as in the beacon in a mousetrapp, located on a hill before the ships enter the bay. The bay is just 5 minutes walk away Popup Linkdown to the village. And this is what Baltimore looks like taken Popup Linkfrom a ferry. With the other  pictures I like to share I have problems open them up. Till next time...

Enduring to get it right this time...

When I was sending my first few entrys, I made some mistakes or had trouble downloading some pictures. So I kept on trying and I hope in time I get the hang of it. In my post 'Amsterdam' one of my nicest picture did not come out and so I send you now Popup Linkthe swans. Looking at my album from Amsterdam, I saw that I have so many pictures and like to share some more wth you, but I could not make up my mind which ones to send, so I settled for  Popup LinkArt in the park and  Popup Linkthe Euro-flag flowerbed as well as  Popup LinkFlower-display. Popup LinkRainbow-colors also captured my eyes.  I also noticed that a picture I send by mistake had my thumb in, and so I add  Popup Linkdutch cottage again without my thumb.
Lastly but not leastly I'll try to attach ones more a picture that I downloaded 4 times but none of them wanted to open up.
Here is:

Till the next trip/holiday...

Klein Kariba 2006

By monikascholze written 8/25/06 12:00 PM, published 8/25/06 12:00 PM

In january 2006 I was in South-Africa to visit my kids, and together we went a few days to stay in a nature-reserve called Popup LinkKlein-Kariba. I loved the scenery with the wooden houses by the lake  Popup Linkwooden houses. The lake was full of  Popup LinkSea-roses , and the Popup LinkGolden-showers were bloomimg beautifully. The monkeys were minding their Popup LinkMonkey-business. Some people were  Popup Linkcatching a lift to see the park in its splendour. There was a Popup Linkwaterfall and we saw a Popup Linkzebra crossing the road. The last night we had a Popup Linkwet barbeque , but we did not let this spoil our fun. The flash-lights reflected in the raindrops and others made blobs on the camera lense.
