I struggled with what I wanted to say, in pictures and words.
Mothers do not become mothers alone. I honor fathers. Whether children have grown in your heart or in your belly I honor you today.

We all fall short. Some of my parents weaknesses have become the beginning of my strengths.

I have fallen short, for those who have loved and parented my children in ways I could not or at times I could not, Thank you.

For all the mother's who's children did not come home, from school, or across the street, from the hospital or from a war - I honor you.

As I was beginning to write this - a veteran's honor song came on - Black Lodge Singers "for those that made it home", my oldest son made it home. I rejoice just as my heart sings out for those who made the ultimate trip home.
We all need to be nurtured.

I went back to see about the heron this morning - no sight of her. There were some other beautiful sights.

050307_003 I had seen her but she usually was in an area you really couldn't get to.  I went out the morning after a big storm and there she was, 10 feet away. Her wings were scraped at the top but not broken.050307_005a b/w050307_005b

Just like a white winged dove....does anybody else remember that song?db3 db4 db2 I realize that the first two are  not as good as I'd like them to be. I'm playing with a microsoft picture editor a little bit.
 
Mr. and Mrs. redbird had a leisurely breakfast, a couple of sparrows joined them.
