January Walk

I have been fascinated with the forms leafless trees present against stark winter skies for years. No two are alike. There seems to be an infinite number of designs and moods in these shapes. Here is just a few shots I took during an early evening walk yesterday.branches 1 branches 2 monotone branches vertical feel bold truns
An ordinary snowfall

Sometime it's easy to take our environment for granted. Around here folks are quick to moan and complain when there is snow in the forecastbranches I'm just as guilty. But I usually try to find the beauty - especially if I can shoot it winter berries I recently took a short walk soon after a magical magic snow dusting of freshfresh pine , whitecoconut-like , soft coconut snow and here is some of what I shot. I came to the counclusion that this particular snow looked like coconut flakes - the kind you cook with.
snow on color fall color w snow A great contrast with the orange of the remaining fall leaves. One of which looked almost like a .pearto me. There is even something for the doggies on our lives to appreciate

One of the more common trees around here -- the Sweetgum gum2 Looks quirky with snow on its odd seed pods. > DESCRIPTION_HERE Great contrast I'm fairly happy with most of these shots from my stroll.... a few I realize are not sharp in focus but it feels like I captured the morning adequately.

A TV Childhood Treasure

I'm guessing this is a big stretch of the childhood treasures assignment and admittedly a stretch for orignal work...but MY childhood included TV... And me and my sister used to watchJeannie I Dream of Jeannie ...Nelson EVERY day followed by Bewitched after school. I don't think there are many programs that can come close to the genius of those two. I wanted to BE Major Heelie and I wanted to know the "Stevens" family. Darren was kinda lame... Anyway, I had taken these shots not too long ago upon a moment's notice of seeing the broadcast.. to send to my sister for a giggle and I thought they fit a somewhat into the theme. I hope no copywright was infringed dong this also...
Scooby Doo!

OK I am a little self-conscious about my postings amoung all of you experienced posters (although everyone here has been very kind and helpful) but here goes anyway. This theme assignment was a bit frustrating because I just don't have a bunch of stuff from childhood. I may still come up with a more direct response. For now though, I decided to approach it from a slightly different perspective.
I just returned from a trip to Kaui, HI with some family where we rented a house. I had a blast hanging out with my neice (age 7). I am amazed that Scooby Doo has transcended generations. We had the whole cast with us on the trip. One lazy afternoon we went into the back yard and posed the cast in our own little sets. Here are a few glimpses into that. We had a great time and we both laughed when we looked back at the photos. Cool!
