Biography
Pediatrician, retired 1/1/2006.
Began photography with an Argus 35mm film camera and a small darkroom in the 1940s. Drifted away from it except for snapshots of family and friends until I bought my first computer and digital cameras became available. Started with a Toshiba PDM5, graduated to a Sony DSC S85, then a Nikon Coolpix 5700, a Nikon D70, and now a Nikon D200. -
Artist's Statement
Photography has taught me to look and occasionally to see. I prefer nature, weathered structures and people for subjects, and hope gradually to increase my ability to see and capture the beauty of our world in all of them. -
Camera Equipment
As above. Currently using the D200 with three Nikkor lenses: 18-70mm, 105mm macro, and 70-300mm telephoto, with the occasional use of extension tubes and an SB600 speedlight. -
Favorite Photographers
All the acclaimed greats, Jon Cox, Bryan Petersen, Brenda Tharp, and Frederic Larson of the SF Chronicle
