You Lookin At Me?
A gull from the beach in Destin admiring himself/herself (how do you tell?).
Islands in the Fog -- Best of 2008
Of the pics I took in 2008, I think this is my favorite for the year.

Window for the B&W Challenge
One for the B&W challenge. We were in Rocheport a few weeks ago and visited many of their shops. This window was taken from inside of one of the many little antique shops.
I'll be honest with you, the exposure wasn't the greatest when I started but I worked the image over with GIMP and this is what I came up with.
Thanks for looking...
Now that the site functions are back to normal, I wanted to try this one again.
Thanks for looking.
Islands in the Fog
This was shot at Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs, Arkansas. It was early in the morning and the fog was rolling across the lake. The fog completely engulfed the islands shortly after I snapped this shot.
I was playing with frames and added one for fun. Maybe it would be better without.
Enjoy and thanks for looking.
A Morning At Binder Lake
Last Saturday morning we took a drive to peaceful little Binder Lake near Jefferson City, Mo. The fog had just disappeared from the lake leaving a bit of a mist in the air. We were there mostly by ourselves except for a few early morning joggers, but by about 10 am, there were people setting sail in small colorful sail boats at the far end of the lake. However, Geese were honking and gliding to perfect landings on the still water at the location we were parked. So, this is where I focused my attention. My wife napped in the car while I shot these.
Foggy Morning Church Steeple
I shot this one early this morning with my cell phone. Hope you enjoy.
I Would Like Your Opinion
I guess these photos come under the heading of remembering my camera. The truth is that I was on the job when I took these and when I'm working, I just can't carry a camera for multiple reasons. But I did have my cell phone camera.
So, when I saw this purple building with white door I used what I had and took the following shots. There is something that I like about each one but I need your opinion on which composition you think is best. Two of them are cropped very little but the one showing just the door, mail box and flowers is the tightest crop.
So, which one of these do you like the best? Do you like the partial white bench and bike in the composition or are they distractions? Or, do you think they are all trash. Give me your honest opinion. I promise, I won't cry...well maybe a little. :)
Trout Fishing Bennett Springs (Took the Point & Shoot)
We took an overnight trip this weekend to Springfield. I really didn't want to lug the slr around, so as per the instructions of ObviousTroll and his bi-weekly challenge, I did take the P&S. Glad I did. On our way back we drove a few miles out of our way to Bennett Springs State Park. Beautiful spot, whether my pics prove it or not. Here they are. Trout fishermen exhibiting their passion. This spot will get a return visit this fall and I'll take the real camera.
I Dunno...Palm Something Or Other
I was looking for a flower for the challenge. Unfortunately, almost all of my wife's flowers have burnt up in the last couple of weeks heat wave. So, in my looking I saw this Palm something in one of her flower pots on our front porch. I wanted something different and I liked the lines that it gave me. It probably doesn't qualify as a flower but it's different. What do you think?
