Can we talk???  My master just installed this new dog watering device in the front yard.  I think the thing sucks but apparently he thinks it's just great because every time I go for a little sip he runs after that stupid camera of his. Oh yeah....while he's snapping pictures I'm getting splattered in the face and my tongue nearly blasted off.  Great huh?  So, would you please tell him to take the stupid thing back where he bought it? A nice water bowl like I have inside would be just fine.

Acrobats In My Yard

These little critters are true acrobats and they perform every day in my front yard.  I watch them Climbing up trees with the greatest of speed and ease only to turn around and hang Upside Down as if there are suction cups on their tiny feet.  Other times they simply want to tease you with a little game of Peek-a-Boo.  But at the end of a long day of activity, this one decides that it's Naptime.  So, if you want to see a circus that is really squirlley, come sit on my front porch.

I guess it's a good thing I took these when I had the chance.  For the last 2 nights we've had sub freezing temperatures and I'm afaid that just about everything that was in bloom is now wilting from the freeze.

Reflections From the North Shore

I've been trying to catch this image for some time now.  Conditions have to be just right.  Too little wind and the lights reflect but appear as harsh blobs of light on the water.  However, with too much wind, the reflections are obliterated all together.  The morning this was taken there was a very light breeze causing just the right ripple effect which shot beams of light reflections from the North Shore across the main channel of the lake and up into this quiet cove.  I enjoyed capturing this one.  Hope you enjoy it also.

Ice Storm

I'm sure that most of you saw the news reports concerning the ice storm that ravaged the midwest a few weeks ago.  And, I'm sure that some of you experienced it as I did.

These shots were taken in areas that were not so hard hit. The ice at these locations only accumulated to one half to three quarters of an inch on tree limbs, power and telephone lines.  So, there was some damage but nothing like the damage that occurred a few miles south and west of here.

The sparkling ice clinging to everything in sight made for many surreal photo oportunities.  However, the storm was a killer.  On the day these photos were taken the death toll was already over 50 and the storm was still on it's way to the northeastern parts of the country.
