My "crow" thumbnail from previous post came from this outfit in the French Quarter.  There were 3 of them but the stall was so crowded it was hard to get a good pic.  They were cool tho - the jumpsuits looked like they were hand painted to "match" the masks.

Just some early thoughts on things that are strong and strong things we wish we had on the farm.      
I smile at the determination of this tree every day;
I cry for the strength and determination
this man must show every day.

Kody, meet Miss Gretchen (read the shirt!).  We're a family of animal lovers:  it all started with sister #2 and Rufus, then came sister #4 and Aggie.  Aggie needed a friend meet Beauxregaurd.  Instead of bulldogs I have Biscuit and I just think this is a majestic pitbull.  Kody, since I'll be getting a bulldog puppy next spring maybe I'll name him ALF for you :-)

More vacation pics, sorry :-) This Galvaston building has interesting window architecture, and here's a door being gaurded by a Texas-sized gaurd dog!  Still in Texas:  there's a hardware store that had these signs posted and poop on the 12-year old manager of that store who was rude about me taking the pictures.  If you're going to have funny signs at the checkout your going to have people enjoying them.
 Everything's bigger in Texas, but they have cute school signs in Louisiana.  I'm not sure if this was a controlled fire but it could be seen for miles.
Finally, my contribution to the tattoo conversation that was going on here a month or so back.

Who DOESN'T use the refrigerator door as a bulletin board!  Also in the kitchen:  multiple doors on an old stove, and in case you miss the FIRST caution sign there's three more on this door

Visited family for the holiday; My parents built their house 36 years ago, and had the leaves on their front door hand carved by a local artist. Another picture from the coastal trip but it fits into the current  windows theme.

I like this crab but he's too similar in color with the surrounding seaweed.  What would YOU do?  (and just to head off all the funny/smart a$$ remarks; what would you do besides the obvious "take him home and boil him for dinner")

My husband had never been to New Orleans so we made it part of our trip.  I love the arcitechture so I'm sharing:
I can't get two flower boxes to match, much less 12. Three different views of the same wall of blue doors .  Amazing wrought iron is everywhere .  A couple of similar green doors and three final views of the French Quarter

OK, I apologize in advance for my apparant stupidity (before purchasing PS I thought I was fairly intelligent)and the begging that is about to occur: See this beautiful face marred by the wire? Are there any kind souls who can help me understand "layers"? I have PS Elements and PS latest but maybe I am trying to do something that can't be done. (I also have TWO big fat "help" books that are NOT helping). Isn't it possible to take this picture apart by layers to get rid of the wires? I have reached a frustration level beyond what any amount of chocolate is going to fix............
