Still too much time
Let's try this again: A hint about the phonograph record is that I had it in my pocket and said well I'll try this Always prepared ex-electrician image.
Then someone already correctly guessed the In all finer restaurants pepper mill but come on folks! Surely this familiar item couldn't make you stumble. Just look around! just stands there looking around . You'll give up an "Aw, shucks" when it's identified I'm sure.
I think I might have got the combination right for posting finally.
Way too much time on my hands

I got to fishing around in my pocket and, of all things, came up with this:
Then I got to playing around with my portable studio and wondered how this would look:
And just to finish off a trio I figured this one would probably be too easy but including it anyway:

Then I got to go out in the backyard for a little astro photography Big Dipper and goofing around with my next-door neighbor.Me & Harlan
The best shot of the night was not that great - An airplane winging through the night leaving a trail of strobe flashes. Airplane trail
When the hour grew late my buddy left and there I was with my Canon S3-IS and a full charge on the batteries.
I played around with the porch furnigure Bird cage and tea-table Chair and shutter and up and down the street. Then I started messing around with the white color
balance adjusting for the ugly, garish, greenish-yellow street lights Street Lights (The color is a guess; I'm color blind).
Then I tried to do justice to the unmistakable blue house across the street which is a beacon for me describing where my
house is: Blue House and Spring Onions "Across the street from the blue house" is my final direction when guiding strangers in from the highway.
Ever the gageteer, I dig down none too deeply in my bulging pants pocket and retrieve a small (3- AAA cells) higher-power

As a footnote, I'll say this is my first experience also with editing HTML and it ain't the breeze I've long suspected it ain't! Editing and getting everything in place took between one and two hours. Perhaps it will come easier with experience. It is, however, something I've enjoyed more than I thought I would in spite of the effort.
